From the outside, my nose was considered fairly pretty, but because of functional problems such as severe deviated septum, I decided to have surgery. It was near my home and famous for rhinitis surgery, so I went there. Deviated septum + nasal valve reconstruction, and there was something else too but I don’t remember well.. Anyway, with that, they said that after surgery the nasal bridge would become slightly wider, so the nose could look a bit wide. Because of that, they recommended adding cartilage to the nasal tip as well, so the gaze could be relatively dispersed. My nasal bridge was on the high side, but I thought it would look prettier if only the nasal tip were raised a little.. so since I was doing it anyway, I decided to do it and planned to insert only cartilage. On the day of surgery, the director said that if I wanted the nasal bridge shape to be made prettier, inserting about 2 mm of silicone would give a highlight effect, and recommended that it would be okay to put it in. I had no intention of putting in silicone until right before surgery, and I hadn’t considered it because I was afraid of side effects, but after thinking and thinking, during the final face-to-face with the director, I decided to put in 1 mm. (No extra charge for silicone / only the cosmetic cartilage surgery had an extra charge of 1,000,000 won) As a result, rather than the height being increased, it definitely became straighter and more refined, so I think there is a highlight effect. Only after 3 months post-op did smiling become natural, and before that my facial expressions were awkward. There is no scar at all, and functionally, both nostrils are not perfectly symmetrical, but compared to before, it has definitely improved a lot and breathing has become easier. (Basically, severe allergies can’t be helped, so the inside of my nose swells and I get medication prescribed every change of season.) Cosmetically, I’m also satisfied with the naturally refined appearance. However, the director wasn’t that kind ㅎㅎ I did get a slight feeling like, is he somehow annoyed.. but in the end, the surgery turned out well.
