When I first started looking into revision surgery, I really never imagined there would be a rupture, so when I was told after the ultrasound report that there were signs of rupture, my mind went blank and I was badly shocked + in denial of reality.. But I think it was actually such a huge relief. If I hadn't gone around looking into revision surgery, I would have lived without knowing that the gel implant was leaking out
For consultations, I went to three places: ㅇㄷ w, m, and ㄱㄹ. I searched for places known for revision surgery + places with good breast ultrasound screening + places with over 20 years of experience. For my first surgery, how should I put it, ignorance made me bold, so because I didn't know much, I just made decisions, got consultations, and had surgery without really knowing anything. But with revision surgery, I couldn't do that. I worried and thought so, so much about everything, from the implant to the incision location to choosing the clinic.. I think it was harder to decide because I had already had surgery once.
I won't separately reveal where I decided on, and I'll just write the consultation details, so if anyone needs it, please refer to it anytime. Oh, and you know that for revision surgery, the consultation details, diagnosis, and cost all vary hugely depending on the condition, right?! Please keep that in mind while reading.
ㅇㄷw (Kim ㅈㅎ) This was the first clinic I went to for consultation, and this is where I first heard about the rupture after the ultrasound. When I said, as if I really couldn't believe it, "Me, a rupture??" they said everyone reacts like that and enlarged the ultrasound area where the rupture was visible and showed it to me. They said the capsule condition was clean, thin, and good. They said capsule removal + revision surgery through an inframammary fold incision should be fine, and recommended Motiva for the implant. I don't really remember the consultant much, and the consultation with the director left a strong impression. (He speaks really well, extremely confident) It felt like if I trusted him and had surgery, he would take responsibility and do at least the surgery very cleanly. I don't know of any other special points.. There was encouragement to book.
ㅇㄷm (Lee ㅅㄷ) There is a director who separately checks the ultrasound, but that person really only checks the ultrasound. Then during the director's consultation, we looked at the ultrasound again while consulting. When I said the previous clinic said it was a rupture and that I was so scared, he looked at the ultrasound and said it was indeed a rupture. But he said the capsule condition was also okay and that for now, the condition was not that serious. The way he talks is, hmm, rather than kindly and gently explaining, he explains quickly, so I understood half and couldn't understand half. I just figured it out from context. He isn't unfriendly, just not a gentle style. I think I understand why people call him tsundere. It seemed like he has done a lot of surgeries. The clinic is large-scale. Aftercare is well set up. The consultant consultation was so-so. There was a suggestion to book, but not pressure.
ㄱㄹ (Oh ㅈㅇ) A private clinic where the director personally handled everything from the ultrasound to the consultation. The consultant and staff felt very soft-spoken and kind, kind like that, but the director was stiff. I think that's just his personality.. They also said it was definitely a rupture. They said the size also seemed too large for my rib cage and breast pocket, and that it would definitely be better to lower the size. I was recommended Motiva through an inframammary fold incision. I think I saw the director for about 5 minutes? and talked with the consultant for about 30 to 40 minutes. Among the three places I visited, the aftercare felt the most, how should I put it, packed with only the essentials and really solid. They manage everything thoroughly in the early weeks, and after that, they consistently do texture management and follow-up checks. Like when you buy one custom suit and keep going back until it's finished to get measurements taken and fittings done, somehow this place felt like a tailor shop of the breast surgery world? Among the reviews I read, there was one that said they wished they had done it here from the beginning, and I related to that. It also seemed like the operating room was well managed.. The staff were all so kind too, and it seemed like a clinic specialized in breasts. No pressure to book. No suggestion either.
ㅇㄷw and ㄱㄹ can disclose CCTV, ㅇㄷm said they cannot. They said they record it on an iPad, show it, and delete it. All three allow hospitalization.
