I had surgery in my early 20s, when I didn’t know anything, well over 10 years ago at GLD, by a director who has now moved somewhere else. I see a lot of recommendation posts here, and considering I don’t have any major problems, maybe this director was fairly good at surgery? By now they must have gained even more experience, so I hope they perform surgery better than they did on me.. At that time, I had surgery through the areola with textured implants, which are now banned. I still don’t know why they were so popular back then. I don’t have capsular contracture, and because I went relatively small, I was told a lot that my breasts looked pretty, but the feel is really bad (maybe this is a limitation of textured implants), and there is rippling too. Still, I don’t regret having surgery, and it’s better than having had nothing at all. The problem is that the areolar scar is very noticeable. I’m not prone to keloids, and I did it after seeing reviews where other people’s scars were almost invisible, but for me the scar was so obvious, like it protrudes a bit outside the areola? So I told them, and at the time they did scar surgery for me. But after that, it didn’t get any better at all. They kind of excised the scar and sutured it smaller again, but I don’t know whether it had no effect or whether it was done by one of those ghost doctors that were common back then. Anyway, now I’m looking into revision surgery, and because of this experience, I’m looking carefully into what incision method they use for scarring and what type of suture they use. I wish there were no ads, but there aren’t many scar reviews that feel trustworthy. Personally, I think rather than whatever implant is trending right now, it’s important whether it has been proven safe for the longest time and whether the company has a compensation system if something goes wrong with the implant. If I get revision surgery again, I’ll be doing it hoping there won’t be any issues for around 15 or 20 years, and honestly, even if I have to replace the implants again after that, I think I can accept that much. Even though the scars are severe and the feel is bad, I don’t regret the surgery.
