Before <before> after <9 months after surgery> after <9 months after surgery, front view> after <currently, more than 1 year after surgery> I had lateral lower canthoplasty in June last year, and since there weren't many reviews here of lateral lower canthoplasty after about more than 1 year, I'm writing this to share information!
First of all, whenever I have any surgery, I always! ask for it to be natural and harmonious, even if the before-and-after difference is not huge, and I requested the same from the clinic for this surgery too!
First, with lateral lower canthoplasty, there are really many cases where it reattaches, and many cases of revision surgery too. So I think it's important to find a clinic that performs surgery in a way that prevents reattachment from the start.
And if you get greedy, they cut until the red flesh at the outer corner of the eye shows, but I really don't recommend it.. It looked scary to me.. In real life it looks even stranger, and personally I think the end point of cosmetic tuning is looking natural, so even if the effect is subtle, I recommend doing it naturally.
Also, right after surgery, the conjunctiva? feels pulled, so your focus doesn't align and it feels really strange and scary, but it goes back to normal after 1-2 hours, so don't be scared!
Conjunctival edema.. is more uncomfortable than I expected. The white of the eye swells up, so even when you close your eyes, they don't close because of the swollen white part haha. It's not only uncomfortable, but also really painful.. your vision is blurry too.. In my case, everything except the black part of the eye swelled up.. lol Gross.. I hope you take good care of it with something like cotton swabs.
And lastly, something I never even thought of.. your eyelashes get cut off at the outer corner of the eye? lol Because the eye was cut and lowered, the newly expanded space has no hair follicles(?), so the eyelashes continue from the inner corner and then suddenly stop very unnaturally near the outer corner.. haha This can't be transplanted either, and when you're bare-faced it looks very unnatural and obvious, so I hope you keep that in mind lol I really never thought of it.
Still, I think it's the best surgery I've had, and my eye makeup time has gotten shorter. I escaped from my stuffy, small-looking eyes + now have a gentle-looking eye shape, so I'm very, very satisfied lol
As for side effects, I'm not particularly sensitive, so I don't have any functional problems, but when I smile, I don't think I can do an eye-smile where my eyes close completely lol Still, after cutting with a scalpel and stitching it up, expecting it to function exactly the same as before surgery is itself being greedy.. so haha
As expected, with plastic surgery, rather than touching a decent area for no reason, I think you're most satisfied when you feel like you hate that specific area so much you can't stand it.
