As you can see from the photos, before surgery I had eyes that were small and had a lot of fat. I lived like that my whole life, then one day I thought I’d like to change my image a little.. Once I decide I have to do something, I’m the type who pushes ahead no matter what, so I asked friends who had double eyelid surgery and found a few hospitals. I also did a lot of online searching in this community to find a hospital.
If I had to say what I based my choice of hospital on, first of all, it was the success stories from people around me.. I didn’t think very glamorous eyes would suit my image, and my goal was to make my eyes look as natural as possible while enlarging them. When I went for the consultation, since it was a private clinic it didn’t feel chaotic, and I felt the consultation was sincere and thorough. The before-and-after photos they showed also seemed to be cases similar to mine, which I liked. I felt the consultation was worthwhile.
The part I emphasized during the consultation was that I wanted it to look natural rather than too flashy, and the director also said that if my eyes were made too dramatic, they would look unnatural, so we should aim for a natural look while still making them look clear and refreshed. At other hospitals, they said that because I had a lot of fat in the eyelids, I’d need fat removal too, or that I should get upper epicanthoplasty? But here, they only recommended the procedures that were truly necessary for me, and explained in detail why I should have them and how things would change afterward, which I liked. Of all the hospitals I visited, I thought the director’s consultation style suited me best, so I decided on this place.^^
I wasn’t told I absolutely needed fat removal, but since my upper eyelids definitely weren’t thin, I was recommended incision surgery. I thought I didn’t show much of my pupils on a regular basis, but it turned out the problem was not only the eyelids; my eye-opening strength was also weak.. So they suggested incisional double eyelid surgery + eye-opening correction, and also an inner canthoplasty to make the eyes look a bit more refreshed.. I did hesitate a little because incision surgery can mean swelling, but I know my own eyes If I had done non-incisional surgery on these eyes, I felt like it would loosen too soon. So I went with incision surgery without complaint..
Every time I went in for follow-up checks after surgery, the director personally checked how much the swelling had gone down and what precautions I should follow, and took care with the aftercare too, so I really felt firsthand why you can’t ignore the care system at a private clinic.. Following the manager’s tip, I made sure to go for walks, and my swelling went down quite quickly for an incision case. It was such a relief when the director personally told me the swelling was going down well
Even if it does go down relatively quickly, incision surgery is still incision surgery… As you can see from the photos, there’s still a slight puffy feeling, but from about the 2-week mark onward, the swelling went down faster than before. The after-surgery photo is the 1-month photo, and at this point it did go down quickly, right?
People around me also joked, saying, “Why didn’t you do it sooner?~ You were hiding such big eyes under all that fat?” Hearing that made me think I really should have done it earlier, and I feel so happy because I suddenly look so much prettier.
