I think it’s better to explain by separating pros and cons, so I’ll write it out
-Cons 1. Expensive - I thought it might have been a bit cheaper if I had done it at a nose-specialized place + only did the philtrum here, but philtrum-nose seemed like a different area, so after debating for a few weeks, I decided to get them done together.. (philtrum before surgery 2 cm, after surgery 1.6 cm) 2. Hard to manage - I got it around mid-May, and at the time I thought with this weather it would be manageable.. But summer is still summer,, It’s so hot and humid.,, Now that it rains so much, when it’s humid, aftercare isn’t easy.. 3. Many follow-ups - The nose has its own follow-ups and the philtrum has its own. Scar tissue forms where the incision was made for the philtrum reduction, so I have to go get injections (I live outside Seoul I went about 5 times just for follow-ups.. If you go the minimum, around 3 times may be enough, but it wasn’t exactly cheap, so I went diligently) 4. Philtrum pulling - When I smile, the area under my nose feels suddenly pulled. It doesn’t hurt, but I can’t smile comfortably.. They said it gradually improves, so I’m waiting. It’s better than 2 weeks ago, and I can feel it’s better than last week, so I’m watching it
-Pros 1. My face really comes alive - I feel like you can tell just from the before-and-after photos (maybe I’m the only one who feels that..._) I think I look more refined. Since this was the reason I got surgery, it’s the strongest pro, and honestly nothing else really matters.. 2. Full confidence in my side profile - Once the philtrum and nose line were defined, even to me my side profile looks kind of pretty, so I want to talk to people only from the side instead of face-to-face.. 3. I became prettier - It’s similar to point 1, but I understood why everyone gets revision nose surgery, then a third and fourth surgery. Even if only the nose is pretty, the whole facial image just seems elevated. My jawline or face shape isn’t pretty, but once the nose is defined, the eyes go to the nose, so I feel like other flaws get covered on their own
I’ll still have to keep watching it, but after 2 months, I think the swelling is mostly gone, and so far there are no issues with the columella, nostrils, or nasal ala deformation, so I feel like I hit at least above average in the rhinoplasty lottery, and I’m happily writing this review.. Also, I don’t think a place is automatically good or bad just because it only does noses. Everyone wants a different nose shape, so I recommend going to as many consultations as possible!!
