Has anyone here had it done with donated cartilage? I still can’t see any comments... I’m just rambling a bit to level up my account. Donated cartilage is dead tissue. It is absorbed according to the body’s mechanism for removing foreign matter. Even if the cartilage, perichondrium, and surrounding tissue are alive, they do not regenerate well. Especially if you use it as a support structure with the idea that it only provides temporary support and then disappears, it is very likely to fail if you use it as a support for the nasal tip or where height matters. That is one of the reasons why revision rhinoplasty is so common. If you’re planning to use cartilage, I recommend using autologous cartilage.
