I had never had any cosmetic surgery before and couldn’t ask anyone around me, so I just clung to the internet and searched all kinds of things. I went to 4 places... I’m from outside Seoul, so going back and forth to Seoul was honestly so exhausting... I wanted it to look natural no matter what, and rather than getting the nose shape I wanted, I wanted only my flaws covered, so I asked them to focus on that during the consultations. (It’s my first time writing a post, so please tell me if there’s any problem!!)
1. ㅍㄹㅁㅇ / ㅊㅎㅅ People online said to go to a one-doctor clinic and not a factory-style clinic, but this place was exactly the opposite: tons of people and 4 directors. There were also YouTuber reviews, so I went because I wondered why people say not to go to places like that. It was definitely the most crowded and took the longest among the 4 places I visited. There were so many people at the desk, like consultants..? nurses..? The consultation with the doctor was extremely short,, as soon as I went in, he picked up a cotton swab and said, “Mm, we can shave the hump a bit and put cartilage in the nasal tip,” something like that.. How should I put it, it just felt like he quickly said things and moved on.. Since it was my first consultation, I asked about side effects and all kinds of things, and he kept saying, “There aren’t any~ No, it’s fine~ That doesn’t happen~” and it felt like he was trying to end it quickly..............mm.... that’s that... And the consultant tried to lure me by saying they’d make it cheaper if I booked now, but I didn’t..... Also, the doctor here said he had a contract with some entertainment company, and things like that.. It felt like he wasn’t telling me what I was actually curious about and kept talking only about himself...
2. ㅂㅌㅇ It came up a lot on YouTube, and there was also a YouTuber review.. (people who searched for rhinoplasty will know.. that YouTuber), so I went. I was someone who had no connection to plastic surgery at all, so I found the very heavily operated-on faces of the consultants? staff? really fascinating.. Everyone looked like they had had a lot of work done, so I wanted to ask if they had it done by the doctor there, but I didn’t because I thought it might be rude.. This place had the lowest price, but at first they asked how much I had in mind.. mm... I wondered if they would have lowered it if I had said a low number... Since I didn’t know much, I said I planned to follow whatever they told me......... The doctor answered all my questions and explained things well, but somehow there were a lot of requirements...... Still, thanks to this clinic, I found out my nose is crooked!! I had lived without knowing my nose was crooked.. cough.. But because it was so much cheaper compared with other places, it made me not want to go there.. There were also a lot of requirements... yeah.. The price they told me included a discount too, but rather than feeling good, hearing they’d make it much cheaper with a discount made me more uneasy.. (Maybe it’s because I don’t know much..)
3. ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ This place is very old,, tucked away,, small,, it somehow feels experienced, but not modern,,,? Do you know what I mean, like there were images from TV appearances from decades ago stuck on the wall,, mm.. Anyway, that was the external image, and the doctor and consultant were nice. It was the same as other reviews. They told me what couldn’t be done. But I don’t know why a famous place doesn’t take CT scans?? I’m really curious why they don’t take CT scans.. hmm... And they said it might not be very noticeable, but it would still be better than not doing it, and it would be to the extent of improving the bad points I currently have. That fit my thinking somewhat,, but this clinic doesn’t advertise, doesn’t discount, and doesn’t take CT scans, so I’m very worried... It has a kind of dark-side-of-the-moon feeling... I’m writing this post because I want to look up more and raise my level in this community...... Also, when I asked this doctor about side effects and things like that, he asked whether I had any questions related to the shape.. Mm... I just moved on thinking, “I see,” and he did answer all my questions, but still, shape is more important, huh haha.
4. ㅊㄷㅊ Last consultation.. ha.. I was honestly so exhausted, but there were many reviews saying this place was the most expensive, so I went because I was curious why on earth an expensive plastic surgery clinic is expensive??? They recommended both functional rhinoplasty and cosmetic rhinoplasty, and said that if using reimbursement? insurance, the functional rhinoplasty price would be almost nothing.. I thought, “Ohh,” but if you combine both, it’s really soooo expensive!! More expensive than other places.. sob sob... sobㅇ... And they did the Photoshop simulation, but for a place that said they pursue a natural look, they showed it raised quite a lot...? Maybe I just don’t know... If it’s raised as much as that edited image, it seems like problems would happen.. You know what I mean.. Like, does it make sense for it to become like that..? haha.. After getting a lot of consultations, I thought I probably couldn’t handle raising it that much.. Oh, and the doctor answered all my questions. He snapped the tablet shut, but when I said I had more questions, even though it might have been annoying, he turned it back on and explained.....
But even after all these consultations, I still don’t know... The hump bothers me so much that I really want rhinoplasty, but I don’t know where I should do it Anyway.. this is the end of my in-person consultation review... There isn’t a “this place was the best” kind of conclusion.. They all had pros, but they definitely had cons too... haha (* I hate brokers, so don’t specifically point to one of the places I consulted at and say things like “I also liked --~”.. If you do, I absolutely won’t go there.. I’ll look things up myself.)
