Breast Re-Surgery

The sudden rupture and the journey all the way to revision surgery

It had been about 8 years since my first surgery. Honestly, even up until I had that surgery back then, I never thought rupture would happen to me at all.. Because hospitals don't tell you about side effects unless you ask first, and they only talk a little about aftercare when AS comes up.. The explanation is more like, capsular contracture comes within a year, rupture is basically almost nonexistent, even if you get run over by a truck the implant won't burst, that kind of thing. They don't talk about it as if it would become my problem, because then no one would get surgery.

So I think I was even more shocked. When I was first told about the rupture during my annual ultrasound, my mind went blank, and no matter how far back I searched my memory, I couldn't think of any moment that had felt suspicious.. That's when I realized rupture is scary for exactly that reason. They said it would be best to get a consultation at a specialized hospital right away, so I looked up a lot of information and went to consultations at two places, and among them I decided Glam was the place I could trust most and get surgery at.

The director is a breast surgery specialist, and I heard he does surgery completely by the book, like FM style. He is extremely sensitive about cleanliness and related details. (If you actually go for a consultation, you'll feel it right away.. The director really seems like the type who will not compromise at all on anything he believes is right.) The AS period is lifetime too, so they have to be responsible for the patient they operated on until the end, which is why they never do risky surgeries. Besides that, they have very diverse aftercare. Being able to watch CCTV. Being able to be hospitalized. I liked all of that so much that I thought it would have been really nice if I had known about this place at my first surgery.

At first I also worried a lot about removal, but still I didn't want to go back to my old small chest. I was also worried whether I could live in that state, but I thought if I removed them I would just regret it and have to go for surgery again So I didn't even choose removal, and went with revision surgery instead. Motiva 315, submammary incision!

Getting back onto the operating table was so, so scary But the manager reassured me like a real older sister, saying it would go well and be over quickly and not to worry too much, and I was so grateful Then when I came to in the recovery room, I was surprised because it really finished much faster than I expected. For my first surgery, they said it would take 1 hour, but had about 2 and a half hours passed? It was like that. And I didn't even feel pain, my body moved well too. (They say revision surgery has a faster recovery period, but I didn't expect it to be this fast.) It was to the point that I could take public transportation home?? But just in case, I took a taxi home.

The day I went to the hospital to remove the bandages, I saw my chest for the first time. The size was not very different from before, but the shape was so much prettier!! I had felt that kind of confidence a little during the consultation too? I thought there probably wouldn't be a failure, and the shape would be guaranteed, and it was true.. The director may be blunt, but I finally understood what people mean when they say he is really good at surgery. (But he had said it still wasn't fully settled, and that we would have to watch the condition and might need an upper band if necessary. So far I still haven't used a separate upper band and I'm not wearing a compression bra either.)

When I go in for follow-up checks, I also get care there, and each time as soon as I walk into the lobby, the staff recognize me first and guide me well, so I always feel so good when I go. In the past, plastic surgery clinics had a strong image of being cold and rigid rather than warm, but after my revision surgery here my whole view changed. I also feel like I really met the right consultation manager, since she always replies right away even when I contact her suddenly!! A friend asked me to tell her where I had my revision surgery, so I told her, and she said she really liked it and put down a deposit that same day. I felt proud that I introduced a good place They said when you come back after surgery, we become sisters who share the same breast surgeon

When I heard about the rupture, I was truly, truly in total panic, but once I actually had the surgery, my mind cleared up, my mental state came back, and these days life feels worth living again. If any of you everyone here are also broken mentally by capsular contracture or rupture, first!!! Don't just stay shut up in your room and go around for consultations at hospitals quickly.. And get the surgery first. Whether it's removal or revision surgery, once you solve the problem first, everything else will work out, so don't get too depressed I hope you pull through well and stay strong. I'm cheering for all of you
