Before/after/after-after, writing down my 2-week experience First of all, my rhinitis was pretty bad, so every time the seasons changed, honestly, I got so stressed.. especially when sleeping.. People who know probably know what I mean.. At first, when I was looking into nose surgery, I was only looking at the cosmetic side, but I was told that if I did functional rhinoplasty, the functional nose part could be reimbursed through the indemnity insurance I already have, and I would only have to pay for the cosmetic nose part, so I thought, this is it! and had the surgery!!
Honestly, aesthetics matter too, but improving my rhinitis was more important, so I focused more on that, and since I had a bit of a hump, I wanted to make it a little straighter~
I looked at several hospitals too, and it definitely seems good to choose a place where an ENT doctor can work together with the plastic surgeon. For insurance too, and for the treatment itself too, there are definitely merits!!
To talk about after the surgery, on the day of surgery it was, well, not as hard as I expected, but from day 1, it got real.. The swelling was one thing, and those damn cotton packs were so uncomfortable
As they removed the cotton packs and then the splint step by step, it gradually got more comfortable.. There is still swelling, so I’ll have to watch it more, but for now, breathing is good.. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but it already feels better.. The nasal tip still feels a bit blunt slightly? but that seems like swelling, so I hope it all goes down quickly~~
If you’re going to do functional rhinoplasty, make sure to check your insurance first, and choose a hospital where communication is good so you can address the discomfort and refine the shape too~~
