2 Months After Cheekbone Reduction + Revision Rhinoplasty With Autologous Costal Cartilage + Double Eyelid Surgery

Before <before surgery> Before <before surgery> After <week 1> After <week 2> After <week 2> After <week 2> After after *2-month review after first double eyelid surgery + facial contouring (cheekbones), deep cheek fat removal + revision rhinoplasty (autologous costal cartilage)*

For my eyes, I had natural adhesion double eyelid surgery, upper canthoplasty, and ptosis correction. For facial contouring, I had cheekbone reduction + deep cheek fat removal. For my nose, it was revision rhinoplasty, and I used autologous costal cartilage.

At first, I didn’t plan to have surgery like this, but after my first nose surgery, for 2 years I honestly didn’t really like it, though I just lived with it thinking it was still better than my old nose. But for the whole 2 years, I didn’t say anything and people didn’t notice at all, and more than anything, it kept bothering me that my nose looked bulbous, so I decided I should get revision rhinoplasty. So while I was at it, I also decided to do cheekbone surgery, which I had quietly been thinking about for a while. In real life my face isn’t wide and flat, but in photos it came out looking very wide and flat, and uneven too, so I was also concerned about my cheekbones and did it together. My eyes looked stuffy in the front, and I had wanted to do them for a long time, so while I was doing everything else, I took big!! courage and did them too.

The reason I chose this clinic! First, Director Lee’s experience was one thing, but during the consultation about my nose shape, it matched the needs I wanted, and he had a lot of experience operating with autologous costal cartilage, so I decided on him!

Director Seo is also famous for facial contouring and places importance on safety, so I didn’t even hesitate! And I had my eyes done by Director Jang, because I heard Director Jang is good at operating with minimal swelling, so I did them together.

But although it was my first eye surgery, considering I had eyes + nose + cheekbones done, especially my eyes had very little swelling and no bruising at all (this is case by case..)

Day of surgery: First, when I woke up from anesthesia, my throat was extremely dry.. And honestly, I didn’t have any pain at all. Even though it was autologous costal cartilage, I had forgotten that costal cartilage had been harvested until my guardian asked, “How is the costal cartilage area?”

Day 1: I gradually swelled up. But there wasn’t any pain or anything like that. Since I had cheekbones + nose together, it definitely felt stuffy.

Day 2: The inside of my mouth and my nose gradually swelled too, so from this point, honestly, breathing was really hard and I couldn’t sleep properly Because I did it with my cheekbones, I couldn’t eat well either.

Day 3: Since my surgery included a Sunday, I had the nasal cotton removed on day 3, and really, just removing the cotton made me feel like I could live! And with the autologous costal cartilage, other than a temporary brief slight pain, there was really nothing (swelling was at its peak).

Days 4-6: After day 4 passed, I felt like the swelling was going down, and there wasn’t anything very uncomfortable! Just that I still.. couldn’t eat food well? Since I did nose + cheekbones together, I think opening my mouth was harder! (I went to a hair salon to wash my hair.)

Day 7: Now all the stitches for my nose, eyes, and cheekbones were removed, and I could wash my face and wash my hair. For showering, I put on waterproof bandages, and after showering, I dried the stitch areas well! And this was when I first cut noodles completely with scissors and scooped them up with a spoon to eat!

Day 14: I had the autologous costal cartilage stitches removed, and now I could wash completely well. But even after the stitches were removed, I was careful for about a month because there was a possibility that the surgical sites could open up. After a week passed, the swelling and bruising went down so much that I looked different every day! (And because it was hard to open my mouth, even when I smiled it looked quite unnatural, and until then I mainly ate noodles like pho and pasta.

1 month: Once it had been a month, I looked a bit more human and could smile a little! As for eating, I actually ate all kinds of meat too! Honestly, even making facial expressions was hard because my philtrum and cheekbones felt tight, but from one month onward it improved a lot, and by then all the stitches inside my mouth had fallen out, so I could eat rice really well! And around this time, the bruising was almost gone and the swelling in my eyes had gone down a lot too. But since cheekbone surgery is bone surgery after all, my whole cheeks definitely still felt puffy. And rather, at one month, I felt tingling around my cheekbones, and the director told me at my follow-up that this was because the nerves were coming back. My nose also became a very naturally defined, refined-looking shape! My eyes also became a not-overdone semi-outfold, and at the follow-up, the directors also said it turned out so well ><

2 months: After two months, smiling and making facial expressions definitely became more natural, and now I can yawn pretty well too! My mouth opening still isn’t quite like before surgery, so I couldn’t eat a hamburger, but toast was possible... And compared with the one-month mark, the swelling in my whole face has really gone down a lot!!

I’ll come back to write another review next time! haha
