The only cosmetic surgery I can honestly say was a success was my revision surgery because one eye came undone. First, in 8th grade, I got double eyelid surgery by incision at some random clinic. But almost immediately after, one eye would come undone if I did not put strength into it, so I went back to the clinic and said I thought it had come undone, but they gaslit me and stubbornly insisted it had not. So I just lived with it, and when I was in high school, I went to that clinic through an acquaintance's recommendation. First of all, I know it is harder to match asymmetry by only doing one side than by doing both sides, but both sides are almost identical. My original eyes have different skin thickness, so there is only a really tiny difference. Also, during my first surgery, they made incision marks all along the double eyelid line, but in this surgery, they only made about 3 to 4 small openings? along the line. So now it has been over a year, and only the scar from the previous surgery is visible; genuinely, nothing from this one shows. I seriously regret getting it done in middle school. If I had not done it then, I would have gone around lying and saying it was natural. And recently, I revisited for another consultation and said I wanted to change my double eyelid line for cosmetic purposes, but they said that because my original skin is different on both sides, if I had revision surgery, the feel of both sides would inevitably be different, so they advised against it. It does not seem like they deliberately push unreasonable surgery.
