My honest LASEK review after 17 years

I had the surgery in 2007, so it’s been about 17 years. My honest review is: don’t do it. If your eyesight is bad, wear glasses, and if you don’t want to wear glasses, I think it’s better to just wear contact lenses. Until 10 years, I could see well, but after that my vision gradually dropped quickly. Even now my eyesight has fallen, and it comes out as 0.3. My dry eye syndrome is really severe, so when I wake up, my eyes make a crackling sound like dried filefish, and on days I wear disposable lenses, even wearing them for just half an hour makes my eyes hurt and gives me a headache. And I also developed floaters, symptoms where black thread-like flies seem to fly around. These days LASIK and LASEK are so common and done so easily, almost like they’re simple procedures, but things gained easily come with an equally big price in what you lose.

This review is a surgery review pursuing reconstruction.
