I'm leaving this post as a record/for information. I'm a bit out of it right now, so please excuse me if I'm rambling. 1. First, as soon as I got to the clinic, I changed clothes, washed my face, did things like gargling, talked with the consultation manager, talked with the director, and waited. While waiting, I got an IV? for the first time in my life. I'm not sure what it was, but it was something like fluids, and my strength drained out. The nurse also said that when the liquid went in, I might feel a tingling sensation around my buttocks, and it really did tingle. 2. After waiting, I went into the operating room. I lay down, and they fixed my arms and legs in place. That was a slightly new kind of fear for me. But I had already let everything go. 3. No, first they said they were going to trim my nose hairs, and this was the most uncomfortable part for me lol. It went in deep like a COVID test and they trimmed them... 4. The director came in, put a finger above my forehead, told me to look at the fingertip, and drew the design on my nose. Then the nurse said the anesthetic would be going in now, and I was thinking, what if the anesthesia doesn't work on me? But when I came to, they were telling me to take deep breaths and wake up quickly. 5. Everyone says they ramble because the anesthesia hasn't fully worn off, but I was just fine. No, rather than fine, I just had no strength. I was sleepy. But I went with a guardian, and I found out later that the nurse had told them to keep talking to me so I wouldn't fall asleep. 6. After the surgery, in the recovery room, I got fluids? again and was coming back to my senses a little, but I had to see the director and ended up waiting quite a long time. More than an hour? Still, I was out of it and so tired that my mind was blank. During that time, they dried my hair too (my hair was wet because it had a lot of some disinfectant? on it, but when they blow-dried it, it dried), and I changed clothes. 7. Finally, the director came in and said the surgery went well. They said there wasn't as much septal cartilage as expected, so they harvested only within a safe range and used ear cartilage together. 8. The splint is supported with something like aluminum? I don't remember what it was, but they said even if it looks crooked, it won't affect the shape of the implant. 9. They said not to touch the gauze under my nose until the clinic removes it later. They said the feeling of something flowing is probably just because it's swollen inside and it's nasal discharge and things like that, but I don't remember exactly. But they said it wasn't to the point of soaking the gauze. I took it off briefly and there was no blood. There is something like a small tube? visible inside the nostril, and they said that is also something to let nasal discharge drain out. 10. They said the nasal tip may throb a little right now. 11. Everyone, go with a guardian if possible. They can pick up the prescribed medication for you, and since you're out of it during the explanations, it seems good to have someone else listen. 12. The surgery was scheduled for 10, and when I left the clinic it was around 4. I think the surgery was around 11:30? and I think I went to the recovery room at 1:30. The wait was a bit long after it ended. 13. I came home and ate pumpkin porridge. But drinking water is harder than eating porridge. A straw... is hard too. 14. It's evening now, and I feel really nauseous. It feels like a hangover. I feel queasy and my head hurts too.... The director had said that because my nose is blocked and I keep breathing through my mouth, my head could hurt. 15. It's uncomfortable when I swallow saliva or food. The cotton on the left side seems to have a slight gap, so every time I swallow, it feels like a bit of air comes through. 16. You know when you drink alcohol and feel sick, and saliva comes out right before you're about to throw up? It's like that right now haha.
I'm going to try to write like this every day, like a diary hahaha It still doesn't feel real that I got nose surgery. I wonder if I'll be able to sleep tonight.
