I originally had no thoughts of getting nose surgery! I had heard that my nose was pretty, and people would sometimes ask if I had nose surgery when I wore makeup, so I had pride in my natural nose. But starting two months ago, I hit a face slump, and I kept looking in the mirror.. After thinking it over, I decided, let’s just do the nasal tip!! and had consultations at three places! What I wanted was no silicone, no obvious surgical look, and natural enough that people around me wouldn’t notice? It had to harmonize naturally with my existing nasal bridge!
In the end, I chose ㅅㅅㅇ Plastic Surgery. The reason was that other hospitals recommended silicone, shaving the hump, dermis, and so on (almost forced), and since I only wanted the nasal tip, I started thinking, does my nose have that many problems? Was it just my delusion that it would look pretty with only the tip done? I was about to give up on surgery. The last place I went was ㅅㅅㅇ, and Director ㅅㅇㅅ said my skin is extremely thin (so thin that my dermatologist was surprised because even the capillaries are visible..), so silicone would be a big problem, and that doing only the nasal tip would be enough to make it pretty. They also said the hump was not severe enough to shave, and that these days they actually leave a slight hump like a natural nose and just proceed with the nasal tip The consultation with the director lasted about 30 minutes; they listened to my concerns and kept asking whether I had any other questions, and I was truly, truly touched.. Without hesitation, I booked the earliest available date and had the surgery~!
Now I’m moving from week 2 to week 3, and since I only had the nasal tip done with autologous cartilage, I don’t have much swelling, so I think there should be no problem as long as I manage the scar well! For those considering nose surgery, I’ll write a few points from my experience that may be helpful *^^* After surgery, I barely had any pain. My appetite was so good that I ate pizza right away. How.ev.er, the two nights with cotton packed in my nose were so miserable. First, I had to sleep with my mouth open, so my mouth kept getting completely dry and it was hard to fall asleep Even if I did fall asleep, my mouth kept closing, so I woke up feeling suffocated In the end, I balled up some cotton and slept with it in my mouth so my mouth would stay open Second, maybe because I had surgery in summer, sweat built up under the taping, making it sticky and itchy.. When I tried to go outside and even wore a mask, there was cotton inside my nose and taping outside, and I was breathing through my mouth, so the humidity made it absolute hell Third, when the cotton was removed, my nostrils were uneven. Both nostrils were completely doing their own thing.. I thought the surgery had failed, searched reviews all night, and even thought about revision surgery, but seriously, after a week it goes back. Don’t stress for days like I did; just wait! Fourth, after the splint or taping is removed, don’t worry if your nose looks upturned like a pig nose. Because of swelling, the nose temporarily looks lifted. I asked my family several times a day, “Doesn’t my nose look like a pig nose?” and kept looking in the mirror, touching a perfectly fine nose, and even cried thinking it was ruined Once the swelling goes down, the nose comes down. Don’t worry, no no. Lastly, as the nasal swelling moves downward, the philtrum gets longer (it really got long like a giant from a strength show), so I searched tons of philtrum reduction surgery reviews I did this to get prettier, but I regretted it a lot. But this also goes back once the swelling subsides. However, if the surgery was done to make a long nose look shorter (I had some columella, so they set it back), then naturally the philtrum may look that much longer. If your nose length was kept similar, it’s just swelling, so don’t worry.
Those who are going to have surgery will probably experience these things in order I had no one to tell me, so I nearly lost it mentally, but I thought there would be many people like me, and as I wrote, it got long Lastly, I’m posting before-and-after surgery photos for those who may be curious!!
