Self-paid buried-suture double eyelid surgery review

<Condition with pseudoptosis (they said the bulging upper eyelids are not fat, but the eyeballs because I have protruding eyes)><It would appear only at night, making it hard to open my eyes and making them feel so heavy ㅜㅜ><Severe dry eyes due to congenital lagophthalmos>After<Day 10 after double eyelid surgery>I had double eyelid surgery with the buried-suture method on 4/1, and now exactly one week has passed! The doctor was not just really kind, but someone who thinks from the patient’s perspective, so I trusted them even more!! It was my first surgery and I get scared easily, so I asked all kinds of questions during the consultation, and they explained everything very thoroughly and gently. They actually told me to ask everything, because if my questions weren’t resolved, I’d feel anxious even during surgery haha. I’ll know better once the swelling goes down more, but the line came out clean, so I’m satisfied. Most of all, it’s so comfortable that I don’t have to use my forehead when opening my eyes ㅠㅠㅠ

Condition before double eyelid surgery •My eyes protruded more than average, so I had congenital lagophthalmos and severe dry eyes •I had pseudoptosis, so I usually opened my eyes using my forehead •Recently, only at night, multiple creases would form, making it heavy and uncomfortable to keep my eyes properly open •My eyelids gradually drooped and pressed down on my eyelashes, causing them to keep poking my eyeballs -> because of that, I was constantly dealing with keratitis, and wearing mascara was out of the question ㅜㅜ •I had been living with the discomfort because I didn’t want my image to change significantly after surgery, but after the multiple creases appeared, I decided I couldn’t go on like this and chose surgery!

Double eyelid surgery consultation •If I got double eyelid surgery, the lagophthalmos could become slightly worse •I had to accept that the area above my eyes would become a little fuller than before •Eyes that would turn out amazing with the buried-suture method ( >.<) •Because it was not true ptosis, I absolutely should not get ptosis correction -> my eyes would not close at all •Setting the line - if set high as an outline crease, there would be a higher chance my eyes wouldn’t close, if set as a completely hidden inner double eyelid, the drooping eyelid skin would not improve, so it would be meaningless -> a thin in-out line is the answer •For the buried-suture method, they planned to proceed with 4 stitches using a single-knot continuous method

Condition after double eyelid surgery •Fortunately, the lagophthalmos did not get worse •The area above my eyes became a little fuller than before •The swelling and bruising were worst the day after surgery, and now about 2/3 has gone down •From the day of surgery through day 5, my eyes felt tight and numb along where the buried sutures were, but now on day 7, it doesn’t hurt except when I squeeze my eyes shut or open them wide in surprise •To reduce swelling, from the day of surgery through day 3 (before stitch removal), I did cold compresses 5 times a day for 30 minutes each + walked for 1 hour each day
