I’m absolutely not a broker; I paid for it myself in installments... This is a real review.. I’m posting because it was so hard for me to find information too.. so if anyone is planning to get the same surgery as me, I hope you’ll definitely use this as a reference..!! I even did it secretly without the family I live with knowing..(so it was even harder)
They say that usually, once surgery goes well, people don’t come back here and just live their daily lives, but at first my swelling was so severe that I thought something had gone wrong, so I kept coming in, and now I just come in because it’s fun.. And I also wanted to leave something like a 3-month review somedayㅜㅜ!!
I’ll just write in detail and honestly!! - Surgical method : Incisions were made at the cheekbone below the outer corner of the eye and the cheekbone near the sideburn area, and it was a non-fixation method. : They said my cheekbones weren’t dramatically protruding, so I wouldn’t see a dramatic effect, but I would see an effect of refining the facial line. : They said I could go back to work after 3 days, so I had surgery Friday morning and went to work Monday..(I don’t recommend going back to work after 3 days.. reason below)
- Day of surgery (day 1, Friday) : Surgery was at 10 in the morning, and as soon as I got there, I had a consultation, took photos, quickly prepared for surgery, and when I came to my senses I was lying on the operating table.. The anesthetic went in, and when I opened my eyes I was in the recovery room. The first thing I felt when I opened my eyes wasn’t so much pain, but ugh, the bandage feels tight, it’s exactly like other reviews.. that was it lol. And I was definitely still out of it from the anesthesia, so I fell asleep again.. I slept for a long time, then the doctor came and checked on me, saying the surgery went well, and I went home! But as soon as I took the elevator down to the first floor, blood started dripping from my nose.. They had given me tissues because they said I might have a nosebleed, so I wiped it with those and went to my friend’s place.. Since I did it secretly from my family, I said I’d sleep at my friend’s place for the two days I had the bandage on and went there.. And the bandage was so tight that it was really, really hard the whole time, and in the evening my cheekbones were throbbing so much and it hurt so badly that I tried to force myself to take painkillers with a mouth that barely opened, but it hurt so much I cried and made a whole scene;; And on the first day, I slept sitting at an angle, but I seriously kept waking up, and the bandage made it hard to breathe too. My friend said I snored a lot.. I woke up around 3 a.m., took painkillers again, and slept.. I was prescribed a week’s worth of medicine, but I almost finished it during the two days with the bandage on;
- Day after surgery (day 2, Saturday) : Wow, I was several times more swollen and several times more bruised than yesterday.. They said only severe cases get bruising under the eyes, but my eyes were basically black and blue... I was so worried whether I could go home looking like this, and because of the swelling the bandage became even harder to bear. Ah, during the two days with the bandage on, I only drank liquids through a straw, and my body felt so exhausted that I didn’t really have much appetite.. I just drank Morning Rice and things like that so I could take my medicine.. I think I took one painkiller almost every 3-4 hours, and there was that distinct feeling of my upper teeth aching.. When I felt that, I just took it right away, before it started hurting! And on the second day I slept better than the first day, but the bandage was so, so, so, seriously so suffocating, my ears and jaw hurt so, so much, and it was hellㅜㅜㅜㅜ They say it helps if you put your fingers under the bandage near the ears and jaw to make it a little less tight, but I couldn’t even tell if it helped; I just kept praying for time to pass quickly so I could at least take the bandage off.
- Day 3 after surgery (Sunday) : The long-awaited day to remove the bandage!!!! Still, I wanted to make it exactly 48 hours, so I thought, the surgery probably ended around 12, right? and planned to take it off around noon, but I think I took it off around 11.. My face was swollen beyond imagination, to the point I could barely see in front of me, and I thought if I at least take off the bandage it’ll be a bit better, and now I have to go home.. so I took it off at 11! Wow, just taking off the bandage made me feel like the blood was flowing again and like I could live lololol. I pretended to my mom that I had just gotten facial liposuction + jaw muscle tying..(I said I did it with my friend during the day on Saturday) Just taking off the bandage made me feel like I could survive, so I could drink comfortably. I was moved!!! And after taking off the bandage, I prayed please let the swelling go down a bit while I go home, and then arrived home. Of course, my mom was horrified when she saw my face. Still, the swelling and bruising under my eyes were believable enough for facial liposuction.. Though honestly, I did kind of look like someone whose facial liposuction had gone wrong because it was so severe;; At home, I kept doing cold compresses and wore the compression band regularly.. Please, I have to go to work tomorrow, please~~
- Day 4 after surgery (Monday) : As soon as I opened my eyes in the morning, I did some cold compresses while wearing the compression band and went straight to work. Of course, I was unbelievably swollen and the bruising was extremely severe.. When I read reviews, other people weren’t like thisㅠㅠㅠㅠ I wore a mask and glasses, but the inside of the mask was packed full with my swollen face, so my condition itself was honestly terrible.. My head felt heavy, it felt like my head was shaking, I just wanted to lie down quickly and take everything off my faceㅠㅠ I only told someone I’m close to that I had facial liposuction.. Even so, they were really shocked and said the bruising was too severe.. Luckily, the rest of the people are office workers I don’t really have to face closely, so they passed by without knowing. But it was seriously hard.. There may be individual differences, but I don’t recommend Friday surgery and Monday work. Of course, if you’re only asking whether it’s possible or not, then even if you swell and bruise as badly as I did, it is possible! I collapsed when I got home, did a ton of compresses, and I think I passed out right away in the evening..(Oh, that day during lunch I went to the hospital where I had surgery and got a swelling injection)
- Days 5-6 after surgery : The bruising was still black-and-blue around my eyes.. The swelling was also like Hoppangman. My cheekbones stuck out even more than before surgery, so I thought wow, I’m ruined, and kept browsing all kinds of cafes and communities.. I really regretted doing it for no reason, couldn’t eat anything, only suffered, and was filled with regret thinking I should have listened when people told me not to do it..
- Day 7 after surgery (stitch removal) : I was still swollen, my cheekbones were sticking out even more, and the bruising couldn’t even be covered with concealer.. I went to the hospital and whined. But the doctor told me my cheekbones had gone in.. But what was also amazing was that after removing the stitches and getting swelling care, the swelling really went down a lot! Super fascinating! From this point on, I thought, did my cheekbones go in a bit?
- Days 8-13 after surgery : The period when swelling goes down! The major swelling and bruising gradually went down, and the feeling of my head shaking also lessened somewhat. Of course, if I move a lot, I still get really dizzy..
- Day 14 after surgery : My boyfriend says I’ve become noticeably slimmer now, and my friend saw photos and was like, oh, you really did get slimmer? Of course, I had such severe swelling and bruising.... I’m still swollen and still have bruising. So I’m looking forward even more to a few months from now!
*** Overall summary ***I was more swollen and more bruised than I expected, so I thought it had failed, but after about 2 weeks I feel like I can live, and I think I’m glad I did it! For food, even at work I just ate porridge (I blended the porridge too), and at home I blended porridge, or blended oatmeal and banana into milk, or just put everything in the blender and drank it lol
Looking at other reviews, some people say they roughly started chewing soft foods after 2-3 weeks.. But I think my recovery is especially slow, and the hospital also said that since it’s a non-fixation method, I shouldn’t chew for 1 month.. I tend to listen well to instructions like that, so I’m trying to follow it.
It’s definitely not a surgery to take lightly, but I also don’t think it’s a surgery that’s impossible to do, so if your cheekbones have been a lifelong complex, I think it’s worth gathering the courage to try! If I become even more satisfied after a few months.. I’ll try to post again
