They say the rule is to review multiple clinics, but in Seoul I just went to one place, liked it, and booked it.. So rather than a proper review, I’m writing this just for reference. I got a recommendation from a community for an eye revision surgery clinic and went for a consultation.
Consultation fee was 20,000 won. I had a 12 o’clock appointment, and since it was my first visit, I briefly filled in my information - consultation with the consultant - consultation with the director - consultation with the consultant, then payment - I filled out a few simple items in advance on the pre-anesthesia form, like guardian information, and left. Including waiting in between, it took a total of 2 hours.
I had my surgery about 10 years ago, so this was a revision consultation, and I consulted for uneven eyes. I didn’t have anyone I wanted to look like or anything, so I didn’t bring any photos. I just said I’d be happy if the uneven eyes were corrected and they looked pretty. Very dramatic eyes feel too much for me.. I said I didn’t want an outline crease
Objectively, I have small, narrow eyes, but neither the consultant nor the director mentioned lateral canthoplasty until I brought it up first. I was the one who first mentioned canthoplasty, and they said canthoplasty is an add-on? Optional? Something like that, and if you want to do it, you do it. The consultant was very kind. At other clinics in other regions, I had heard things like I needed to do this and that too, so I was a bit nervous, but there was none of that at all. They didn’t force me to upload review photos either, but if it goes well, I’m obviously going to post photos everywhere, so I said I would do it (got a discount).
The head director directly explained while we looked in the mirror so I could understand that my existing double-eyelid surgery lines are uneven and one eyelid has ptosis, which is why they look uneven. He also said there was enough space for lateral canthoplasty. When I asked, since my eyeballs are on the smaller side, would it be okay? he said it would widen the lower side of the outer corner in a rounded kind of way, that it would look something like this, and pressed that area to show me too. He also explained while showing photos of other patients.
The surgery will be done by the head director, but for lateral + lower canthoplasty, he said he collaborates with another doctor in charge of that.
I liked that the head director said he only does two or three surgeries a day.
There are services like swelling laser and various other things. They said a guardian can watch CCTV in real time.
I want to have the surgery quickly and come back with review photos.
+ Oh right, my eyesight is extremely uneven (only one side has a super thick corrective lens). I had asked whether this might have a big effect, and they said it’s true that the strength with which I open my eyes is different on each side. But since I also have ptosis on only one side, they said the possibility that my double eyelids became uneven because of my eyesight itself is very low. I felt a bit relieved. I had always worried whether it was not an issue with the clinic or doctor, but my own inherent problem.. Since they said the existing double-eyelid surgery line itself is uneven, after more than 10 years, I felt relieved thinking, so it wasn’t my fault.
The clinic overall has a comfortable atmosphere.
