I was always really stressed about my small, stingy-looking mouth.. It was small horizontally and my lips were thin too, so my lips had no volume There’s a limit to overlining with makeup, and touching it up every time was work too, so I thought if it’s like this, I might as well get lip filler, and I made an appointment at a dermatology clinic in my neighborhood!
My facial features themselves are quite delicate and close-set but also slightly on the larger side, so I didn’t want my lips to become excessive and look heavy, like anyone could tell I had my lips done.. I think the best thing is to fix anything *in harmony with your own face* rather than something being pretty on its own.
It was my first time getting anything done to my face, so I emphasized naturalness during the consultation! I brought photos from that clinic’s reviews where the result looked natural. Since it was my first time, I just chose a domestic filler. Among the domestic products, they had Neuramis and Lenafil? I had looked up Neuramis, so I was going to do that, but the consultant said first-timers usually get Lena 3, which was a medication I had never heard of in my life, so I just went with the well-known Neuramis. (From what I found, Neuramis is the basic of basics, has relatively few side effects, and lasts decently.) When I looked it up, Lenafil was a product that hadn’t been out long and had barely any reviews, so the fact that she recommended that did feel a little uncomfortable.
I knew that for first-time lips, you have to build the lip space, so you need to get it periodically until it builds up. I was worried about side effects, and it felt burdensome to put in a lot of product from the start. My lips were already so small that if too much went in, it was definitely going to be duck lips.. The consultant said I needed to put in 1 cc and that if I put in less, later it wouldn’t even show, but I told the director I didn’t want to put it all in and that I absolutely wanted it natural, so I only put in 0.5 cc.
The place I went to was factory-style, so my first impression of the director was that he was younger than I expected? and looked tired. Since it was my first time, when he came in and was getting ready, I told him my requests, but he just nodded and nodded, and I felt like he wasn’t really listening properly, so I was worried.. Then he properly faced me and looked at my lips, and because my body was stiff and I was really scared, he smiled, and only then did I feel like he was treating me sincerely.
For reference, I also got mouth-corner Botox and chin Botox together. At first he did the chin Botox and mouth-corner Botox first, then said, “What you’ve gotten so far is the most painful part haha,” so I said, “Really..?” and felt relieved, but that was just something he said to help me relax. The pain from lip filler wasn’t unbearable, but I’m the type who complains easily and gets scared a lot, so it hurt like crazy. (They say Neuramis itself contains a small amount of anesthetic, so I wonder how painful other products are..?) Maybe because it was obvious I was extremely tense, the director kept letting out little laughs during the procedure.. lol It was a bit embarrassing. Like he was dealing with a child, every time he placed the needle he gently said, “A little sting~,” so I think that helped me feel a little more at ease. After the procedure was done, he carefully applied ointment too and said, “It ended quickly, right?! You worked hard~” and left.
I didn’t know this at first, but they also gave me a prescription for two days. After getting it, it kept hurting with a tingling soreness, and whenever my lips had to exert force while eating, I went “ugh,” but maybe thanks to the medicine, now on day 3, thankfully it doesn’t hurt at all. The pain after getting it was strong, so I thought, ah, this is going to bruise, but I didn’t bruise either.
It may differ by person, but I heard lip filler disappears quickly, so I’m carefully following the precautions and trying not to put anything hot on my mouth. I’m currently very satisfied!! The swelling has gone down compared to the beginning, but it’s still maintaining a plump state. Even if it goes down more from here, I think it was a hundred, a thousand times better than not doing it. I debated a lot about whether to do a touch-up, but I’m also worried about the philtrum sagging, so I’m not going to do it yet.
The mouth corners also show my front teeth clearly when I smile, and since the corners that used to droop have lifted, even when I smile just a little, my mouth looks cute. I feel like I became naturally prettier without ruining the harmony of my face haha I doubt anyone will be curious after seeing my review, but I did it in Daejeon, so if people in Daejeon here leave a comment, I’ll give the info!
