Memories from the day of surgery -Ah, honestly, it felt like a dream. When I went to sleep the night before, and when I went to the hospital that day, I was like, wow, I’m finally getting breasts. It felt a bit like a beginner marathoner running while looking at the finish line lol (being dramatic). On the way, I withdrew cash from the ATM, and I think that was when my heart pounded the most. The disappearing bank balance, the envelope of money in my hand,, and then the hospital in front of me.
On the day, I think the manager and staff took even better care of me than during the consultation. Maybe because everyone comes in so nervous I changed clothes and waited for surgery, and all kinds of thoughts came to mind. Before surgery, I had written in a notebook at home where my stocks were, what bank accounts I had, when my savings accounts matured, what Bitcoin I had, everything. Thinking about it now, I really think I was being insanely overdramatic, like was I going off to die or what
Oh, and the operating room was super clean, so I felt reassured! It was something I already knew, but experiencing it in person made it hit much more. It was so~~ clean.. Everyone who is sensitive about hygiene probably doesn’t need to worry about this part. After waking up from anesthesia, I was seriously dazed, and it hurt a bit then Right when I woke up and was in the recovery room, I briefly thought, ah seriously, what have I done...< but by the time I was discharged, it was okay. When I got home, I ate perfectly fine as if I had never struggled, then went straight to sleep.
Post-op day 2 -I was surprised because I was more fine than expected. But I was scared to use strength in my arms, so I didn’t.. Using the muscles felt somehow strange.
Post-op day 3 -I became even more fine than expected. I went to have the bandage removed, checked the progress, came home, and washed by myself. I still couldn’t shower, only wash the lower body.. It felt uncomfortable, but I endured it while wiping sweaty armpits with wet wipes.
Post-op day 7 -I started showering with waterproof tape attached. I followed the instructions from the hospital (did exactly what they wrote meticulously, like by the book). I dried the incision area with a hair dryer,, It was annoying, but washing made me feel refreshed~ and good.
Post-op week 2 -My body felt stiff because I couldn’t exercise. Since I couldn’t sleep lying on my side, my body felt even more rigid. Still, weeks 1-3 are really the period when you have to be careful with your arms, so I lived with extra caution,, Even when showering, I kept my arms as low as possible and protected my body.
Post-op week 3 -A period of some adjustment. Not much different from week 2. Moving my body became a bit more comfortable, and the muscle tightness symptoms disappeared? The abdominal swelling all went down, and it was the period when the swelling noticeably went down. The feel is still not there yet.
Current -I started applying scar ointment~ I bought the FDA-approved ointment from the hospital and am applying it diligently. Until I started applying the ointment, they said I must absolutely not remove the Steri-Strip tape (they said it is medical tape that prevents the wound from opening and keeps dust from sticking; the director reattached it at every weekly follow-up), so I kept paying attention to it. When showering, I use a waterproof bandage, but before putting it on, I fold a cotton pad and place it first over the area where the tape is attached, then apply the bandage It’s subtly annoying, but I thought I should do exactly what the hospital tells me to avoid problems, so I did it diligently And now I’m living with ointment.
Maybe because I managed it diligently, the scar is healing well and there’s no inflammatory reaction, but how much lighter it will get in the future is something I’ll have to keep watching. Still, I think the suturing was done beautifully. (They said they used mint-colored thread!! They said it’s expensive) I like the hospital care, and they sent several detailed instruction sheets, which helped a lot when managing things alone at home. I thought, a breast-specialized clinic really is breast-specialized for a reason.
And the best part: communication with the manager is so~ good..... When I have questions or when it’s urgent, I contact her on KakaoTalk, and she usually replies really quickly. She also explains in detail and takes a lot of care, so I’m always grateful I really feel like I chose the hospital well.
Lastly, breast surgery satisfaction -10000000000% satisfied. The shape is so pretty! And I think, if not for surgery, when would I ever live with breasts like this? (When I measure the circumference now, it comes out as C.) Even if I went back, I would get breast surgery again Even just wearing nipple patches and one T-shirt, the silhouette is different, seriously,, I’m painfully realizing why breast surgery has the highest satisfaction among cosmetic surgeries. What’s fascinating is that just doing my breasts makes my whole body shape look different. Maybe because there are curves now..
Anyway, they say that from here, as 3-6 months pass, the shape settles and becomes even prettier, so I’m really looking forward to the future I wonder how natural it’ll be at 1 year,, I wish time would pass quickly
