I finally got the 3 facial contouring procedures I had wanted since high school, right after graduating from university. Normally I did not have any particular complaints about my face, and actually I sometimes heard that I looked decent, but my face was so asymmetrical that it was always a complex for me. I hated the facial asymmetry that stood out especially when taking photos or looking in the mirror, so thinking I would not have the chance once I got a job, I suddenly went to consultations at 4 plastic surgery clinics and then immediately got the 3 facial contouring procedures. I had not really thought much about getting my eyes and nose done, but after the consultation, I decided that if I was going to be in pain, I might as well hurt all at once and be reborn as a completely different person, so I added those surgeries too. Of course, from right after surgery until day 4, I regretted it because of the pain and inconvenience in daily life ㅠ But today, exactly one week later, I can see the swelling gradually going down, so I feel satisfied (praising myself for enduring it well ㅠ..!)
*Day of surgery Both of my parents work, so they could not come with me for weekday surgery. I went to the consultation alone and had the surgery alone too. Having a guardian would have really helped a lot, but circumstances did not allow it, so I was pretty nervous by myself haha. Since I live outside Seoul, it took surprisingly long to get to the plastic surgery clinic near Gangnam Station, so I fasted from the day before, woke up around 4 a.m., and left home. Managing your condition the day before any surgery is essential, but because of nerves and excitement, I slept poorly and barely got any sleep ㅠ After arriving, I had the final consultation, changed clothes, gargled, washed my face, and went straight to the operating room. When I went to the top floor of the hospital where I had surgery, the operating room was there. From that moment, I think my heart was pounding like crazy ㅠ I lay down in the operating room and started having all kinds of thoughts, like ah, if the surgery goes wrong, this could be my last moment, but if I die under anesthesia I won't feel anything, so I guess that's okay. Around then, the director who would do my eye and nose surgery and the anesthesiology director came in, and with the words, "The anesthetic is going in," I passed out... At first it was sedation anesthesia, so I felt groggy. I had nose surgery before, so I had experienced propofol, and it did not feel extremely new or anything. Then I felt something like a needle being stitched around my eyes, and after the surgery they told me to open my eyes. The director looked and said okay, and from the nose onward it was general anesthesia, so I fell asleep as the anesthetic was administered. Then I woke up to the nurse loudly saying they would move me, and my first feeling was, huh, this does not hurt as much as I thought. (I regretted that later haha) I moved to the recovery room and it took about one to two hours to come to my senses while getting a pain-control injection and an IVㅠ Since I had COVID 2 weeks earlier, my throat was relatively not painful (COVID sore throat is the strongest). They said I could not even drink water but told me to take deep breaths, and it was driving me crazy. At the same time, I felt relieved that I was alive ㅠ After coming to my senses, I posted in my family group chat that the surgery was over, and then I had no strength at all, so I slept for about an hour. After repeatedly waking and sleeping like that, it became time to drink water, so I folded a paper cup to make it pointed and drank small sips of water, and I felt like I could live a little. And I had always been curious before surgery about wearing the blood drain tubes, but I had no energy and was so out of it that I did not care at all ㅠ Like that, I drank water and fell asleep again ㅠ
As I wrote, this got really rambling ㅠ In the next post, I will write what I felt from day 1 to day 7. I hope everyone has surgery safely and successfully
