I had never even tried common things like InMode.. I had never been to a dermatologist either, so when I started looking into plastic surgery, there were so many things that were difficult. My eyes were obviously uneven to anyone, and because I didn't have double eyelids, they looked too plain, so I had wanted double eyelid lines for a long time. But when I tried making a line myself with a tail comb or used double eyelid tape, the symmetry was off from the start... and I felt like my eyes somehow became really greasy-looking, so I was wondering whether actual double eyelid surgery would really be different.
Because the timing didn't work out, I only went to ㅇㄴㅂ and ㄹㅂㄹ. One place recommended ptosis correction, and the other said to do only double eyelid surgery without ptosis correction, so I think I kept worrying about it..
Common points -Consultation started without a long wait after arriving at the clinic It wasn't like there were no people, but both ㅇㄴㅂ and ㄹㅂㄹ were like that. I'm the type who gets more unnecessary thoughts if I wait, so I was relieved that I could get the consultation right away And the consultant was also very kind. I was so nervous that I was gripping my bag strap tightly, but she joked around and tried to ease the mood, so I felt a little more at ease.. -Detailed explanation about uneven eyes Since I have uneven eyes, I felt that just doing double eyelid surgery wouldn't properly correct it, so when I met the director, I kept asking what would be best. From the reviews, I felt that most people at ㅇㄴㅂ did natural adhesion, so I wondered if they would recommend natural adhesion to me too. But they said my uneven eyes were quite severe and my eye-opening strength was too weak, so I usually open my eyes in a dull, unfocused-looking way. So they said doing ptosis correction together and using an incisional method would make it easier to match the symmetry of the double eyelid lines. And ㄹㅂㄹ also recommended an incisional method, but here they said my skin quality was also a reason. My skin is on the thicker side, and when they made a line, my eyes couldn't hold it for even a few seconds.. They said some people insist on natural adhesion because they don't want scars, but the director said the most important thing is to choose what suits you rather than copying others.
Differences -The consultation time was different At ㅇㄴㅂ, everything finished in under 30 minutes, and when I came out of ㄹㅂㄹ, well over 40 minutes had passed. Of course, because this is my first surgery and it was an eye consultation, I think the first clinic also gave the consultation within an appropriate amount of time. I sometimes hear there are places that finish in 5 minutes.. Still, a difference is a difference. -The recommended diagnosis I think this can't be helped, but at ㅇㄴㅂ, I was recommended incision + ptosis correction, and the director also checked whether I might need a forehead lift, saying that sometimes people come in for an eye consultation but a forehead lift is actually more suitable. The conclusion was that I don't need it. At ㄹㅂㄹ, I was recommended incision + epicanthoplasty. They said I didn't need ptosis correction, and for the canthoplasty, it wouldn't be excessive; when they made the line, the inner corner got too buried, so opening the front a little would make the eyes look much more refreshed.
Conclusion -Because there were parts I liked about both, I asked them to check the available dates. Since I don't have to go to work every day right now, any time was possible for me, but both clinics are in Sinnonhyeon and Sinsa, so if I did it on a weekend or Friday, I felt like I'd get crushed by people on the subway So I asked them to look for a weekday morning to afternoon as much as possible.
I kept thinking about the date until the very end, then earlier I called one place and said I would have surgery there.. Some people said maybe I should visit more places before deciding, but for me, two places were enough, and I think I heard all the explanations I needed, so I think it's okay.
As for the surgical result.... that's something I'll only know after I get it, so since I've already decided, I'm going to live thinking, "It will definitely go well!!" I feel like that's how it'll succeed.. And as another note, even if a hospital is good for someone, it can remain a bad memory for someone else. So everyone, I hope you don't just look at reviews like this, but go to consultations yourself, check directly, and then decide. I really don't think "following a friend to Gangnam" is the right idea..!
