I’m someone who was born with bulging under-eye fat.
After doing a lot of online research, I searched under-eye fat repositioning on YouTube. Other clinics had all kinds of reviews for surgeries on many different areas, but this clinic seemed to specialize specifically in under-eyes, so even though they quoted about 500,000 to 1,000,000 won more than other places, my mindset was that with plastic surgery, money isn’t what matters, my face matters. More than the cost, I wanted reliable aftercare and, instead of a factory-style place, someone who would carefully design and look after my surgical area like a true craftsperson or artist.
Plastic surgery clinics are almost all gathered in Gangnam, Sinsa, Apgujeong, places like that. Unless it’s their own building, the rent must be considerable, and they also have to pay wages for lots of staff inside, so ultimately they have to recover that from patients, right? But if the cost gets cheaper, then they eventually have to go for high-volume, low-margin care, so if they save time on my surgery to see other patients, I’d be paying the money but not receiving reliable service. So rather than being satisfied with a clinic’s poor, careless surgery, I thought I should spend properly and confidently demand my rights. That’s why I made up my mind and did it, even though it was more expensive than other clinics.
I’ll tell you about this clinic’s advantages. Use it as reference. 1. The consultation is professional and detailed. First of all, the director explained things very kindly during the consultation, so even I, who didn’t know exactly what the ligament was, came to understand my under-eye structure, and all my questions were resolved. Since I knew how the surgical method would proceed, it was completely good after surgery, with none of the kind of anxiety that might make me spiral mentally. 2. It’s a one-doctor clinic, and the staff are managed well. When you go for consultations, there are many cases where you get angry at a rude consultant or an arrogant doctor. It feels like the power dynamic flips even when you’re the one paying? It makes you angry and uneasy to hand over money like you’re the subordinate, and the surgical prognosis is often not that great. But there’s none of that here. Everyone is very kind, and it’s kind of fascinating because even with one director, it feels like the staff are managed really well. The clinic feels like it runs very smoothly. I also had the surgery and left in a good mood. The clinic where I got double eyelid surgery a long time ago was unfriendly and honestly terrible. Of course the result was bad too. I’m going to get revision surgery within a few years. 3. I’m very satisfied with the result. First, the fat under my eyes that used to bulge out roundly in a fan shape has become flat. And during consultation, they said about 1 in 10 people may have bleeding during surgery depending on chance, and as soon as they made an incision with a conjunctival laser, I bled, so in the middle I could feel the doctor wiping blood. The bleeding itself wasn’t a lot, but my constitution is the type that swells easily and doesn’t heal quickly, so now it has been 27 days and there is a thin red ring partially on my eyeball. Other than that, the aegyo-sal that hadn’t been visible before has started to show when I smile. I definitely look younger. I’m really so satisfied with this. 4. The aftercare is reliable They said they would check my prognosis at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year (there’s no clinic like this, from what I researched), and swelling laser and white toning laser are also included in that 2 million won cost, so I can just receive them and leave. So 2 million won doesn’t feel expensive at all for under-eye fat repositioning.
So far, I’ve had two surgeries: double eyelid surgery and under-eye fat repositioning, and I’m much more satisfied with the under-eye fat repositioning hehe I spent 2 million won, and I’m going to manage it well going forward to maintain this condition as much as possible.
