My nose was really small and low, so there wasn’t enough septal cartilage either If I pressed my nasal bridge with my finger, it would press all the way down to the base of the nose and make my nose flat? It was a soft nose
The director who operated on me said that for such a small nose, there wasn’t enough material, so ear cartilage alone probably wouldn’t be enough, and recommended costal cartilage I went to 7 clinics for consultations, and most of them mentioned additional materials beyond septal cartilage + ear cartilage… So even though it was my first surgery, I was looking into other materials too.
They said there were two types: autologous costal cartilage and donor costal cartilage. They said autologous costal cartilage can leave a scar along the bra line, and because it has to be harvested before surgery, the surgery time becomes longer and the price is higher. Since I was a high school student, I just chose donor costal cartilage.
In the end, four materials were used: septal cartilage, donor costal cartilage, ear cartilage, and silicone I haven’t had anything I’d call side effects so far, so I don’t regret it
I had disliked my nose since elementary school, and even in middle school I kept looking up plastic surgery information, so I had the surgery as soon as my high school senior early admissions period ended It’s the surgery of my life, and since I still have no side effects, I’m very satisfied
