You have to be more careful with double eyelid surgery than with anything else.. lol I had it done a total of 4 times, and this time I searched hard for a clinic and decided on surgery with the mindset that this would be the last one. Thankfully, I think this revision revision revision revision turned out so much to my liking.
In case you’re curious, I intentionally had it done at a private clinic. The director said reconstruction of the epicanthoplasty scar was possible, so I decided to get it. Of course, they were also confident about improving asymmetry + the shape of the epicanthoplasty, but that part was a given..! First of all, I mainly looked for clinics that could improve scarring. And among them, I heard this place was famous for revision surgery, so I went for a consultation. The atmosphere of the clinic itself was cheerful, and everyone was kind, so the consultation was nice. And above all, since it was a revision, I had a lot of requests, but they listened to my story until the end and gave feedback.
Looking at the post-op photos, it turned out really natural, right? I don’t think it looks like a revision revision revision revision(?) double eyelid surgery, and I think it looks like my original eyes. You can tell if you look at the before-revision photos, but before, the eye on the left side of the photo didn’t open as much lol. This was seriously the biggest thing stressing me out and the reason I ended up getting double eyelid surgery 4 times.. But that has been completely improved, so now they don’t look uneven.
Also, if you look at the before photos, there is a scar at the inner corner of my left eye. That’s a scar that formed because my epicanthoplasty was done incorrectly during my first surgery, you know? That scar also disappeared completely when I had the surgery redone. If anyone here has the same concern as me, try going to a clinic for a consultation. I thought it couldn’t be fixed either, but this time I felt that medical technology in Korea is really good lol.
While removing the scar at the inner corner, I also had surgery on the inner-corner shape because I had never liked it! My inner corners were pointed, so overall my impression looked sharp. My preference is a puppy-like look though.. lol So I asked them to make the inner corners round, and the result was a huge success. I had worried a lot because if the epicanthoplasty is overdone, the eyes can look too close together, and while trying to improve the impression, it can end up looking even stronger.. But without any of that, they opened it up just the right amount and made it look clear, so I’m really, really satisfied. These days, every time I take selfies, I feel so good~!!!!
And because I had the incisional method, it took about 2 months for even the minor swelling to fully go down. It probably depends on the person, so it could take longer than it did for me, but I actually felt the swelling went down faster than after my first surgery.
After surgery, once the anesthesia wore off, the pain was just a little numb and tingling. I had had double eyelid surgery many times, so I was used to it, but some degree of pain is unavoidable.. Also, there wasn’t anything very uncomfortable, but when washing my hair, I had to either go to a salon to have it washed or get help from my mom or a friend?? That much is something you obviously have to accept,, haha
Lastly, the best way for swelling to go down quickly is walking lol Pumpkin juice doesn’t work.. More than anything, time is the medicine, so I hope everyone stays at ease, and I hope you all succeed with your first surgery without needing a revision and live a happier life than before. .
