I only went to clinics that allow minors to come alone, but strangely, the larger clinics said I absolutely had to come with my parents, while private clinics said consultations were fine. I went to ㅌㅌㅇ, ㄱㄴㅅㅇ, and ㅇㅇㅇ in Apgujeong. For reference, I’m a first-year high school student.
1. ㅌㅌㅇ: consultant, doctor, consultant / no consultation fee This was the first place I went. I had heard they were unfriendly, but they were so kind that I was really taken aback. The consultant was so pretty and kind.. Then I had a consultation with the doctor, and um.. the consultant was also there at the time, so it was a little uncomfortable? And when I showed them my eyes as they look when I usually use double-eyelid glue, they said that wouldn’t work. They quoted 3.3 million won for ptosis correction, upper epicanthoplasty, and incisional double-eyelid surgery, but with same-day booking and various discounts it was 2.5 million won. The consultant was so nice.. so I made a same-day reservation for now. But I canceled it. Then the consultant called me againㅠㅠ saying they had given me a lot of special discounts and asking if I really wanted to cancel.. They also asked why I wanted to cancel. The consultant was really, really nice.. But the doctor seemed very busy. Since it was my first place, I wanted to ask a lot of questions, but they just made the line for me and left right awayㅠㅠ Also, they used a toothpick? That long thing to make the line, so I was a bit taken aback haha 2. ㄱㄴㅅㅇ: consultant, doctor, consultant / consultation fee 5,000 won I came after seeing TikTok. The person had non-incisional double-eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty and it turned out so well, so I came here. Turns out this is apparently one of those places only people in the know know about? Everyone here was also so kind. And the doctor explains things in great detail. I said, “At the previous clinic they told me to get ptosis correction and upper epicanthoplasty, is it okay if I don’t?” and they said it would be ruined if I did, showing me photos while explaining. They had a PPT on the computer lol. And they showed me photos saying that because it’s incisional, it can’t help but be noticeable, but to me it barely looked noticeable. I liked this place. They kept asking until the end, “Do you have any more questions??” and didn’t rush me. I was sweating too, and they wiped it for me. Oh, and when I said I wanted lateral and lower canthoplasty, they said I couldn’t because I’m young. They also said epicanthoplasty probably wouldn’t have much effect. They’re so kind. I like this place haha. Incisional double-eyelid surgery plus epicanthoplasty is 3 million won, or 2.5 million won if I provide photos. 3. ㅇㅇㅇ: doctor, consultant / consultation fee 10,000 won Here, interestingly, I consulted with the doctor first. But I had also wondered why consultations usually start with the consultant first. This place is famous enough to have the title “Apgujeong sewing machine,” and a friend got incisional double-eyelid surgery here during winter break last year, and none of her classmates noticed, so she recommended that I do it here. When I booked, I was surprised that September was the earliest available, but someone canceled, so I was able to have the consultation earlier. This place definitely had an expert vibe. As soon as I went in, there was a video? saying things like incisional surgery can be unnoticeable if ~~~. When I searched on YouTube, it was there. They definitely did seem like experts. The consultant took photos of me, and I consulted with the doctor right away. Here too, they showed me photos in a PPT and showed that the scar would be about this much. There was almost none. Is that a feature of places that are good? Here too, I asked whether I needed ptosis correction and upper epicanthoplasty because the previous clinic had recommended them, and they said I didn’t need them. And when I showed them my eye photos, they said, “Oh, if we do it along this line, I think it’ll look like this,” and even the doctor seemed surprised after seeing my eye photos lol because they looked so different hahaha. They were very calm though haha. I also want to do it here, but after meeting the consultant and seeing the price, I went, gasp.. Incisional double-eyelid surgery plus epicanthoplasty was 3.85 million won, and if paying in cash there’s a 5% discount, so 3.65 million won. They asked what other clinics I had been to, so I told them, and they said, “Ah.. ㅌㅌㅇ, um.. this place is a bit expensive, right? Still, it’s definitely different. If you do it, I think you’ll become really pretty,” something like that. And while I was leaving, there was a man who had gotten double-eyelid surgery. I couldn’t see properly, but I was like oooooh. Also, here, before I even asked, they explained various things using my eye photos. They said lateral and lower canthoplasty probably wouldn’t be possible because red is already showing, but epicanthoplasty would have a lot of effect.
For reference, none of the three had much waiting time. I think it was under 20 minutes. I’m really torn between ㄱㄴㅅㅇ and ㅇㅇㅇ..ㅠ I want to do it at ㅇㅇㅇ, but the money is a bit.. haha I’m conflicted.
