It’s been 3 months since I had facial contouring. I had square jaw, cheekbone, cortical bone, and masseter reduction procedures. I’ll share how my daily life changed after facial contouring surgery and my surgery review! First, it took me a full year from deciding to have surgery to actually going through with it. I started with online research, then went to in-person consultations, and kept thinking and thinking about it, and that was the time it took.
I looked into several hospitals in person, from places people said were popular to places said to be specialized, but the factor I ended up thinking about until the very end was safety.
The biggest factor was that I’m not that young, and since it’s surgery that touches the bone, I filtered out hospitals that pushed for dramatic changes or recommended other surgeries. (Though I did think about it until the very end haha Isn’t becoming prettier one of women’s biggest desires? haha)
The reason I chose 345 was none other than safety. Also, neither the consultant nor the doctor recommended that I do other surgeries together. They said I should first see the effect from addressing my biggest concerns, the cheekbones and square jaw, and if I wanted to become even prettier afterward, then it would be something to consider additionally. That felt very reassuring and trustworthy.
Right after surgery, the doctor held my hand tightly and told me to hang in there, and when we met to check my progress, they were as happy as I was, saying it turned out well, encouraging me and saying it would get even better. I don’t think I’ll forget that image of the doctor even as time passes.
Except for my family, no one around me knows haha Some people react by thinking my face got smaller because I lost some weight, and others say my face was already small, but lately it seems even more so. My family says my face shape has changed and that it was worth having the surgery.
Now that 3 months have passed, a lot of the swelling has gone down, so the plump look is gone. Since I never had much facial fat to begin with, it might have been nice to be a little plump haha After surgery, the biggest inconvenience was definitely eating, but now I can open my mouth wide, and I can even eat meat and beef jerky well, so the discomfort with eating disappeared a long time ago.
Even fitting 2 fingers was hard, but I guess time really is the medicine. Seeing how well I can eat now, that seems true. The fact that I couldn’t open my mouth properly when yawning now feels like, whose story was that? So I guess you could say there’s no inconvenience in daily life anymore, right? However, when the left cheekbone area is pressed or the flesh shifts slightly, it stings and hurts, but since I’m in the recovery stage, I’m just living with it. Honestly, right after surgery, all I could think was how am I going to recover, was it supposed to hurt this much, and that the pain was beyond imagination, but time really flies.
They say surgery is better the younger you are, and although I did it late, I think it’s truly fortunate that I did it even now. So if there are people worrying because they feel they’re older, I want to say that worries are just worries. After you do it, the satisfaction is different.
