I’m writing to share this thought in case anyone is looking into surgery for their parents like I did, and if your parents have somewhat thick skin and tend to open their eyes a lot with their forehead: rather than making it too natural, it may be okay to do it a little stronger, thinking that it will slowly settle over 1-2 years.
He had surgery in October 2018 with sub-brow excision + incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction. It was very natural and he was very satisfied, but maybe because he is older, after about 5 years it has definitely sagged a lot. The scar from the incision under the eyebrow really disappeared without a trace. (I think this may vary by person.)

I inherited my dad’s eyes, so I have thick eyelids with monolids too. At one point I did a lot of online research and in-person consultations for eye surgery and rhinoplasty,
but I couldn’t give up that so-called “monolid pride,” so I ended up living with my unattractive face haha Living as a prettier version of myself would be nice too, but I had this pride, like wanting to live as myself even if I’m unattractive?! (After looking at an unattractive face for over 20 years, even though it’s unattractive, I got attached to it too haha)
I think in about 10-15 years, I’ll probably have middle-aged eye surgery to cut away the sagging skin. (My eyes are like my dad’s, so they’re the kind where I 100% expect visual field obstruction from skin sagging.) When that time comes, I’ll come back to look up lots of reviews again. Please take good care of me in advance.^^
