Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

I helped my (ex-)boyfriend find a hospital for revision rhinoplasty and ended up getting mine done too

Before <glabella was bulky from filler before surgery, filler had spread> Before <filler removal before surgery, day of surgery> Before <current nose 1, front view> Before <current nose 2, side view> Before <current nose 3, side view> Since 2019, I had been looking into several hospitals for my boyfriend’s revision rhinoplasty. At the time, my boyfriend’s nasal tip had Medpor? in it, and something was protruding in a clumped-up state like tissue bulging out, so he was extremely stressed, and in the middle of winter, he would even bleed from the incision area around the columella.

He originally had a high nose with a Western-looking feel, so it looked nice before surgeryㅠㅠ I felt bad too and was looking for a hospital, and in the middle of that, my boyfriend made a shocking confession. He said he had never once breathed through both nostrils;;

So I looked into this place and S Hospital, those two, and I took him here. After the examination, it turned out to be very severe deviated septum; I was also interested in nose surgery, so I got examined together with him and even had consultations with the consultant and the doctor. I don’t remember the consultant’s name from then, but she was really experienced and pointed out only exactly what was neededㅠㅠ (That’s why I later ended up getting my side cheekbones done too...)

Previously, I had gotten an enormous amount of filler in my nasal bridge, so from the side there was nothing particularly wrong, but from the front, my glabella looked bulky, like a lion nose or Avatar nose.

The doctor at the time was also surprised by the amount of filler, but said I had to first remove it with dissolving injections and then have surgery. He said my nose was on the low side, but since my forehead was high, it would look pretty to raise it as much as possible and align the nasal tip with my forehead. When consulting with the doctor, it felt like he was already imagining my nose opened up? in the operating room as he explainedㅋㅋ

So I paid the examination fee and deposit, set the surgery date, and now it has been over 2 years since I finished the surgery. I had the surgery in February 2020.

It was silicone + donated costal cartilage. At first, he said he would put in either 5 mm or 6 mm of silicone, but during surgery, after scraping out the remaining filler, it was lower than expected, so I think he said he put in 7 mm??ㅠㅠ When he said this, I was in the recovery room, so my memory is a bit hazy. On the day of surgery, he told me I had a slight hump, so he would shave that down too. (++I think I had one more design consultation after getting the filler-dissolving injection. The filler was not only packed in there, it had really spreadㅠ)

For the cost, since it was my first surgery, the cosmetic part was 1.5 million won, and I think the deviated septum surgery fee was around 3.6 to 3.7 million won. This was my birthday month, so my boyfriend paid for it as a gift. (++I said I wouldn’t accept it because it felt burdensome, and he said then at least accept the cosmetic surgery fee, so I acceptedㅠㅠ++)

After surgery, I slept one night in a private inpatient room, and the next day they prepared all the documents for my indemnity insurance claim. So I stayed at a nearby hotel for a few days, filed the insurance claim in the afternoon, had the nasal packing removed, and went back home!

After that, like other people, I went for walks, drank some pumpkin juice, did warm/cold compresses and nasal rinsing, and things like thatㅋㅋ

Oh! I bruised so, so severely that it almost became pigmentation. If you bruise badly like I did, make sure to apply sunscreen, or get laser treatment to help clear the bruising.

And what I regret is, I feel like I probably didn’t need the deviated septum surgery. It felt like, “You’ll get it reimbursed through indemnity insurance, so do it~” and I wonder if it really wasn’t a surgery I absolutely neededㅋ

My boyfriend, who had it done with me, had a truly, truly severe level of septal deviation, and that surgery plus the revision were both done perfectly, so he says his satisfaction is 200%ㅠㅠ He said I was his benefactor for finding a good hospital and even bought me an expensive mealㅋㅋ

As a result, right now I don’t particularly love my nose or hate it. But I think it’s better than before I had it done:) As expected, surgery really depends on the person and the case.
