In the comments, many people had various concerns, such as why I am considering revision surgery, whether the asymmetry is severe, what the doctor’s style is like, and so on, so I am uploading this together with photos of my eyes taken 3 days ago. A single photo is cleaner than many words! The current photos are bare-faced, and there are plenty of preoperative photos in the original post.
Since the inner corners of my eyes were naturally sharply opened from birth, I had almost no epicanthal folds, so the line was set as what people these days call a semi-out line. When I went into the operating room, there was no detailed discussion like “please make the line like this” and so on. I only said that I disliked double eyelids that were too thin, and I just had the surgery according to the design they made.
As for my eye condition, even before surgery, should I say the muscle in my left eye had weak power to open the eye? It was like that, but I just trusted the doctor and left it to him without much worry or thought, so only the double eyelid was created. Of course, overall, after surgery it is really, really much better, but at some point it became hard to draw eyeliner.. Even in selfies, the asymmetry of my eyes shows.. To match the right eye, I end up adding more shading to the left eye.. The eyeliner on my left eye keeps getting thicker.. Eventually, since about 2 years ago? I have not been drawing eyeliner, and I just do eye makeup with the feeling of matching both eyes using contour shadow. When I lower my gaze, it is obvious that I put a lot of shading on the left eye, so it stresses me out so much;
I never even thought I would look into revision surgery, but I have been stressed since 2 years ago and have been looking into it here and there, and only recently have I started researching it with real enthusiasm.
