Before before after after I had a protruding lower jaw since I was young, so my mother and I went to a lot of orthodontic dental clinics.

After I became an adult, my dental occlusion fit, but my jaw was still the same, so I was not satisfied. In the end, instead of double-jaw surgery, I had genioplasty + paranasal augmentation in Busan.
Thinking about it now, I should have just held out and gotten double-jaw surgery.. It feels like such a waste of time and money... <Day of surgery> I had double-jaw surgery + contouring (revision genioplasty, square jaw) done like this For the surgery time, I went into the operating room a little after 10, and it took about 4 hours After surgery, I was sitting there, and the nurses said I must not sleep because of the anesthetic gas and that I had to get up I felt like I was dying. Holding back sleep was the hardest part Breathing was hard and it hurt too, but on the first day, fighting sleep was the hardest... On the first day, I only dozed off for a few tens of minutes at a time and couldn’t sleep comfortably
<Second day after surgery> Early in the morning, the nurse removed my urinary catheter! It didn’t particularly feel uncomfortable or painful, and after it was removed, I was glad I could go to the bathroom freely haha In the morning, the doctor removed the blood drainage pouch Removing this was a bit painful Still, it comes out quickly, so you only need to endure it briefly My mother came in the morning, walked around the hospital with me, and helped me with the uncomfortable things instead, so even though I couldn’t speak properly, I was so grateful I think having a guardian versus not having one makes a big difference
<Third day after surgery> My mother went back to Busan yesterday, and my boyfriend came and helped me get discharged I had to come back for a 1-week postoperative check, and I thought staying near the hospital for a few days would be better than traveling back and forth separately, so I booked lodging for about 3 days. Because of the check-in time, I asked the hospital, and the manager said I could take my time with discharge, so I was grateful! My boyfriend took me to the lodging, and then I was alone. If anyone lives outside Seoul, please don’t do it like I did Even if traveling between Seoul and your region is hard, when you’re in pain, resting at home is the best.. Don’t struggle alone at lodging in Seoul for no reason; recover at home with your family taking care of you Taking medicine alone, drinking New Care, drinking ion drinks, and doing ice packs was so hard At night, I had the worst sleep ever and basically stayed up all night with my eyes open.. If you live outside Seoul, go straight home after discharge
<Fourth day after surgery> This was the day the swelling was the worst Maybe because I couldn’t sleep, it hurt a lot, I still couldn’t breathe properly through my nose, and there was pressure pain in my face... After surgery, I was sensitive, couldn’t sleep, was tired, and in pain, so it was so hard I walked around the lodging area for an hour each in the morning and afternoon, but the swelling did not improve... Still, since I would see the hospital tomorrow and go home, even though I couldn’t sleep and it was hard, I endured it
<Fifth day after surgery> I went to the hospital, had swelling care, checked the progress inside my mouth, and had disinfection done I hadn’t slept properly at the lodging, but the swelling-care area was so comfortable that I slept deeply there lol After finishing all the treatment, I took a taxi straight to Suseo Station I deliberately booked a special-class seat in case I would be uncomfortable, and I fell asleep for two and a half hours without waking up once I guess the thought of going home relaxed me, and the seat must have been very comfortable haha Once I got home, even though I was in pain, it was so comfortable Because I had surgery using the IVRO method and was in intermaxillary fixation, I couldn’t even eat thin rice gruel or things like that, and only drank New Care and ion drinks
<Day 6 to day 13 after surgery> For 2 weeks after surgery, I could only drink things, so even going out briefly was too much for me I had been a healthy person who had never been sick in my life or even hospitalized, but just going up a short uphill path made it so hard to breathe After that, I only went for short walks on flat ground, and only drank New Care, ion drinks, and water. For powdered medicine, I mixed it with ion drinks and took it I diligently used my facial band and warm compresses. At first I slept sitting on the sofa, but my lower back and hips hurt so much that I slept sitting on the bed, then slept with about 2-3 pillows and so on haha Definitely, once I slept on the bed, I slept well and barely woke up
<Day 14 after surgery> Finally, the day to get the stitches removed! Early in the morning, I took the SRT, arrived at Suseo Station, went to the dental clinic, waited, saw the doctor, and had the stitches removed Stitch removal hurt so much.. Still, if you endure it for about 5 minutes, it’s over, so fighting I endured it so hard that I broke out in a cold sweat lol After removing the stitches, they disinfected it and changed the rubber bands to looser ones. From now on, they said I could put on and take off the rubber bands and wafer when eating and brushing my teeth I practiced putting rubber bands on and taking them off the screws, but even watching it, I couldn’t do it well But it felt like the dental hygienist would only let me go if I succeeded no matter what, so I bled and managed to succeed with a lot of difficulty... They said that as long as I’m careful with spicy foods and don’t chew, I can eat almost everything, so I removed the rubber bands and went straight to Bonjuk and ate beef porridge blended 100% After only having New Care, eating something like rice was so delicious I was excited thinking about eating tasty things when I got home:) After finishing the porridge, I had to put the rubber bands back on lol I think it took about 10 minutes to put on one I thought I might miss the train at this rate, so I only put one on and put the rest on there When I got home, I finished the remaining porridge and brushed my teeth with the wafer for the first time in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! It felt so clean and refreshing I’m happy thinking I’ll spend each day wondering what to eat ♥ When I look at my face from the front and side, my chin has definitely gone in and become shorter, so I’m looking forward to how much prettier it will get once the swelling goes down
