-3 functional nose procedures + cosmetic rhinoplasty -Used 2.5 mm silicone + ear cartilage + 3 mm septal cartilage -My nose was not low, but it was small, short, and deviated. The columella was also relatively recessed compared with the nasal alae -My nasal tip and nasal alae looked spread out (the director said my bulbous nose was not severe, but to my eyes it was a complex) -For the reference photo, I brought NewJeans Haerin's nose. While looking through several short-nose reviews, I came across the director's YouTube, then searched the app and read reviews. Compared with other clinics, there were many reviews of short noses similar to mine, so I booked a consultation
1. Consultation details (points I wanted improved + the director's feedback) I said I wanted my nose to be longer, and that I wanted improvement in the nasal tip + alae looking spread out, as well as the severe asymmetry of the nasal bridge area just above the nasal alae that made my nose look crooked every time I took photos > The inside of my nose was very deviated (to the point that the consultant was startled when she first saw my CT and asked if I could breathe well...), and my face itself originally had some asymmetry, so it could not be corrected perfectly 100%, but he said he would make it as symmetrical as possible > He said the short nose could be improved by raising the nasal tip with cartilage + septal cartilage and lowering the columella. He also said raising the nasal tip would naturally improve the spread of the nasal alae, and when I brought up alar reduction, he firmly said my nose was already on the small side, so it was a nose that should not have alar reduction (he said that if he judged there was not enough septal cartilage to harvest because my nose was small, he would use donated costal cartilage, and in that case there would be no same-day additional charge. In the end, septal cartilage was used / he said the size of the septal cartilage is hard to confirm on CT and cannot be known until opening the nose) > I said I did want my nose to become longer, but I did not want a long nose + I wanted the spread of the nasal alae addressed, but did not want a pinched nose. He said everyone dislikes that and that he would absolutely make sure the surgery did not turn out that way > He also said that if he refined the slight hump, the line would look much prettier
+ Also, while going to consultations at several places, I had heard so many times that my nasal skin was thin and the silicone could show through, so I was trying to avoid silicone as much as possible. But he said that while raising the nasal tip and shaving down the hump, a step-off could form, so it would be better to place even a thin layer. When I told him the concerns above, the director smiled confidently and said, "If the doctor performs the surgery well, it won't show through~ Thin skin doesn't mean it always shows through." Hearing that was the decisive reason I chose to have surgery at B The New!!! I think the relaxed confidence that came from the director's experience(?) felt trustworthy
Oh, and as I had definitely seen in other people's reviews while researching, the director's style seemed to be more about recommending surgical methods according to the direction I wanted, rather than first suggesting all kinds of things The surgical method did not change much from the consultation details above, and we proceeded as discussed
2. Surgery day + progress Same day: I took photos, washed my face, saw the director once, then went to the inpatient room and waited. After waiting a bit, I went into the operating room, fell asleep instantly, and it was over.... I have no memory from the end of surgery until I woke up after sleeping in the inpatient room... After recovering a bit, I took a taxi home. As an aftercare kit, they gave me a gel-type eye mask that can be used both warm and cold, plus medicine to reduce swelling...? The nasal packing was removed right away the next day. But unlike what I had worried about while reading other reviews, it did not hurt at all after surgery. Some people said it hurt enough to need painkillers after anesthesia wore off, but for me, other than my gums feeling a bit numb from the anesthesia...? (I searched it and it said this can naturally happen with sedation anesthesia.) I never felt pain around my nose. And the most surprising thing was that on day 2, there was almost no swelling. Just about the level of, did I swell because I ate ramen?... Even though I did not only have cosmetic rhinoplasty, but also 3 functional nose procedures? I don't know if this is because I am the type who does not swell or because the director performed the surgery skillfully, but I believe it was both
3. After one week: After one week, I went to remove the splint and external stitches, and I saw the director once more then. I had a short checkup, received nasal sebum removal and a swelling laser treatment, then went home. Until one week, I slept sitting up, and my back hurt so much that I endured it until around 2 weeks, when I think I started sleeping lying down. I washed my face right after the stitches were removed, and before that I only wiped morning and night with toner pads containing exfoliating ingredients
4. One month Now that one month has passed, the side line is definitely prettier. Because my nose was short, from the side the nasal tip used to be upturned like a pig nose, but now it is about average...? From the front, as the director said, the asymmetry above the nasal alae has not been completely corrected, but it has definitely improved a lot compared with before. It is only noticeable to my eyes, and when I ask friends, they do not know it is asymmetric. As the columella was lowered, the nose looking short from the front definitely improved, and as the nasal tip became longer, the philtrum also seems to look slightly shorter haha. I think my nose became longer in a way that appropriately matches my facial proportions, and there is no pinched feeling in the nasal alae
