Today is day 5 since I had functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty together! Normally, the order would be: remove the packing on day 2 - put hemostatic gauze back in - go home and remove it myself at night - apply ointment..
But when they removed the packing at the hospital on day 2, I bled excessively, and around 11 p.m., I removed the hemostatic gauze from one side, then had a severe nosebleed with excessive bleeding for an hour and a half, so I even went to the ER It felt like about 4 paper cups' worth came out
On day 3, I went to the hospital and they removed the remaining hemostatic gauze from the other side, but I was still bleeding, so they blocked it with packing On day 4, they removed the packing, I bled, so they tightly packed it again with hemostatic gauze It feels like it's expanding inside my nostrils, and when I swallow saliva, my nose makes this burping/gurgling sound? They told me to come in again on day 5 (today), and after removing the hemostatic gauze, they'll use suction to remove blood clots and pack it again with dissolvable packing When I asked when it dissolves, they said 1-2 weeks
People around me are saying that it's healing slowly, but if they keep putting things in and taking them out, how can the mucosa inside my nose hold up
This time really feels like such a long hell.... I don't know if I can endure it I'm not someone who normally mouth-breathes at all, so I'm not used to it, and my throat is weak too, so even with a humidifier + drinking lots of water, my throat hurts and I still can't sleep.... I think 10 minutes is the maximum After sleeping so little for 5 days, my eyes are unfocused and my mind feels hazy
