I spent a whole day visiting clinics!! I only had under-eye fat repositioning and double eyelid buried suture surgery in mind, and I went around looking
First of all, I had been worried about dark circles since I was in elementary school I even tried following methods to get rid of dark circles without realizing it was because of the tear trough, but of course they never went away, and they couldn’t be hidden with any kind of makeup, so it was so miserable... a life with two lumps of aegyo sal under the eyes...
As for double eyelids, my complex is that I kind of look dazed... because my eyes protrude, they’re not short horizontally, and the distance between my eyes is not narrow either!! Let’s do double eyelid surgery!! Not too high!! Natural!! It’ll be better than not doing it!! That was my mindset... I went in thinking I wouldn’t be greedy (I do have a hidden double eyelid, but even for a hidden double it’s not very visible)
I looked for places that were good at both, but with a bit more focus on under-eye procedures!! After narrowing it down and narrowing it down, I went to consult at three places: ㅇㅇㅍ(ㄱㅊㅁ), ㅈㅅㅌ(ㅍㅅㅂ), and ㄸㅋ(ㄱㅎㅅ)
1. ㅇㅇㅍ(ㄱㅊㅁ) A one-doctor clinic! I went after hearing that the director had recently opened this place after working at big hospitals all over
They recommended natural adhesion + under-eye fat repositioning exactly as I had expected, but said my eyelid skin is not especially thin, so it would probably be better to remove some fat too! (I was also wondering if natural adhesion would work because of this, so it made sense)
Because I have epicanthic folds, the coordinator said if I were to add anything else, maybe an inner canthoplasty? It might be worth considering! Since one of my eyes is slightly smaller, if I got double eyelids, the starting lines could look different and stand out, etc.!
But the director said that unless I myself am stressed about the epicanthic folds, it doesn’t really seem necessary... I also don’t particularly care about the epicanthic folds, so I just said I wouldn’t do it! The coordinator also said having epicanthic folds doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad
Overall, the director was very much like, “Why bother...?” unless the epicanthic folds are a huge complex for you... “Why bother...?” Even things like eye-opening correction were kind of a “...why bother?” mindset, so I felt like our views matched I’m a very safety-first person, so if I can fix just a little bit of what bothers me... that’s enough for me...
And I liked how well they explained the surgery! Among the side effects of under-eye fat repositioning, I was scared not so much of things like sinking more than before, but of vision-related problems The coordinator explained that under-eye fat repositioning is a surgery with the same name but very different methods depending on the doctor, and that if blood pools behind the eye it can press on the optic nerve, but the method the director uses makes the blood pool in front!
The director also explained the surgery process in great detail, but I got kind of fuzzy halfway through listening so honestly I only understood about half of it...
The estimate came to 220
2. ㅈㅅㅌ(ㅍㅅㅂ) Here, both the coordinator and the director recommended eye-opening correction + natural adhesion + under-eye fat repositioning + fat grafting (they said this would be placed in the front cheek)... I’d never even considered eye-opening correction separately, so I was surprised!!
Unlike ㅇㅇㅍ, they said I don’t have much eyelid flesh, but my eye-opening strength isn’t strong, and because of the epicanthic folds the front part of the line could get buried, so adding eye-opening correction would probably be good
At first I was like, eye-opening correction? Why bother? But the more I thought about it after leaving, the more the dormant desire inside me woke up Should I do it? If I do... would I be prettier? Would my impression look clearer?! But I heard the side effects can be severe... and I agonized over it
The coordinator seemed to have a very strong confidence in the clinic!! When I said I was worried about the side effects of eye-opening correction, they confidently said they had never received a single complaint here about the kind of side effects I was worried about... and they told me about five times that if I got surgery, I’d have eyes that would look pretty Thank you!!!!! That gives me strength!!!! I’ll look into it carefully!!!!!
The estimate came to 310 based on paying a reservation deposit!
3. ㄸㅋ(ㄱㅎㅅ) As I’d heard, the wait was a bit long But it was fine because it really was exactly what I’d heard!!
After being recommended it at the second clinic, I asked whether my eyes actually needed eye-opening correction... They said that even with just double eyelids, my eyes would clearly look brighter, and because the distance between my eyes and eyebrows is narrow, if I did eye-opening correction the eyelid area could actually end up looking thicker, which was helpful to hear while they were shaping the line...!!
They also said my epicanthic folds were developed more on the lower side rather than the upper side, so they wouldn’t interfere with shaping the line! They said a semi-out style was possible too... The consultation itself was short, but it felt substantial
So here too, they only recommended natural adhesion + under-eye fat repositioning! If I were to do canthoplasty, maybe a little upper canthoplasty? If I do it, they’d call it a service, so I hesitated for a moment, but I felt like I was being too indecisive, so I said it was fine At first I asked for the head director, but the cost came out higher than expected (...), so if I do end up having surgery here, I plan to ask a doctor who specializes in under-eye procedures to do the under-eye part! The total estimate was 280!
I’m torn between ㅇㅇㅍ and ㄸㅋ... I don’t know why, but I’m leaning a little more toward ㅇㅇㅍ!! I’m going to think it over carefully and decide
