I have tattoos here and there, so I edited those out and just smoothed the skin a bit. Taken with the iPhone basic camera. Please only refer to the facial line, don’t look too closely at anything else! It’s not that dramatic, but it definitely feels softly refined. My chin also looks slimmer.

On April 8, I had cheekbone, front chin, and side-line surgery (what people commonly call full facial bone contouring)! My facial structure itself can’t become idol-small and tiny, so the director designed it as prettily as possible so my current face could look as slim as possible. hehe
Because I had surgery with this director once before, I trusted the safety, and I’m satisfied with the surgical result too. (In 2019, I was too scared, so I only did a little square-jaw reduction naturally, but this year I got greedy and went for all 3 parts. I also shaved the square jaw a bit more.)
At first, I was upset and disappointed because I couldn’t tell there was a big difference, but facial contouring really is a swelling battle too, huh..! Still, I think I can see it gradually improving haha The director said that my face won’t show a big difference in photos, but in person it would be very noticeable, and that it was unfortunate because my face doesn’t photograph well. I think that might be true...?!
Maybe it’s just my mood lol ㅠㅠ Anyway, I don’t regret the surgery, and I do think I’m glad I did it! My facial lines definitely feel more refined.
Next month will be my 2-month mark. I don’t have any side effects, and I heard some people suffer from bloody phlegm and sinusitis after surgery,
I did have some phlegm, but it wasn’t severe, and I didn’t bleed. My nerves are all normal too, and my mouth opens so well that ㅇㅅㅇ...
I wonder if I really had surgery properly lololol. For a month, I really diligently wore the compression band and did warm/cold compresses, so a lot of swelling went down.
At the 1-month mark, the director said my swelling was going down nicely and prettily. Usually, 1-month swelling doesn’t go down in a pretty way,
but he praised me for taking good care of it.
I was going to skip this so the post wouldn’t get longer, but this is such a great item that I recommend it lol
It’s a compress pack that wraps around the jawline and cheekbones. Using this makes compresses so comfortable, and they work better too. Oh, and I didn’t know this, but I heard that after front-chin surgery, some people can develop a witch’s chin or double chin as a side effect.
So they also did muscle tying? for me. Somehow my chin felt a bit tight? a little numb? (It wasn’t uncomfortable.)
I liked that they considered even things I hadn’t thought of and included them in the surgery.
Also, cheekbone liposuction is included in the cheekbone surgery itself, so if the director thinks cheekbone liposuction is necessary, he does that too. No extra charge, it’s basically an included option.
I did everything that was included lol. I even thoroughly did jawline liposuction. A major reason for sagging after surgery is that bone is cut away and fat/skin tissue loses where to go,
so we cleaned it up by suctioning it out to prevent that in advance.
Anyway, I’m satisfied right now, and I’m praying the swelling goes down more and more quickly. They say it keeps going down until the 1-year mark, so I’m looking forward to it!
Oh, and before surgery, there were some negative comments about MIDO, so I was a bit worried and wondered if I had rushed into it. Usually, negative reactions were like:

There were lots of cases like that, you know? So I really asked everyone in those posts with dozens of comments, but no one explained the reason, and most of the private comments were just other private comments asking what it was and to tell them lol
Then exactly one person told me anonymously that there had been someone with minimal cheekbone effect, that the director has a very firm style so you might regret it if it isn’t your style, and that there can be sagging.
That’s what they told me. When I first heard it, I felt anxious and it bothered me a lot, but honestly, those kinds of side effects are less side effects and more issues that come with facial contouring itself,
and I thought they could happen at any hospital. So I just decided to think the surgery went well and focus on reducing swelling.
The reason I’m writing this is in case there’s anyone like me who already set a date at MIDO or already had surgery and is shaking with worry and anxiety.
I was like that lololol. If I had seen a post like this back then, I would have felt more at ease.
I’m rea~lly satisfied with the director and the surgery, and I think I would make the same choice even if I did it again.

But there were some things I felt were lacking. First, since it’s a popular hospital, the hospital is so busy that waits are long, reservations are essential, and it’s hard to get one.
I was trying to book my 6-month follow-up, but I have to work on weekdays, so while making a reservation 5 months in advance, I asked for a weekend slot.
They asked me 3 times if I was okay with possibly having a long wait because it was the weekend. It was an appointment 5 months later, and it wasn’t a consultation appointment, it was a follow-up appointment,
so I was a little disappointed because I felt there wasn’t much consideration for existing customers.
At my 5-day treatment follow-up, I had a lot of questions and wanted to ask this and that, but the nurse doing the treatment also looked busy,
so I was watching myself and couldn’t ask properly. The director follow-ups are after surgery, then at 1 month.
If you want to see the director after surgery, you can see him a month later. That felt frustrating. From the standpoint of someone who had surgery, I had so many questions: whether the surgery went well, whether I was managing it properly,
whether what I was experiencing was a natural recovery course. But there was no way to resolve those questions,
so I ended up only reading community and cafe posts and thinking in a negative direction. Maybe it’s because the director is so busy ㅠ Anyway, that part was a bit disappointing.
I wish there were a director follow-up at least when the stitches are removed, or even at the 1-week mark.
And post-op care is 3 lymphatic-care sessions + unlimited Healite care, but in reality, going in just to receive 15-20 minutes of Healite is burdensome and inconvenient.
So I basically only get the 3 lymphatic-care sessions, which means I can’t say the aftercare feels especially special.
Compared with other hospitals these days that even offer shampoo service, and some that even give you a toothbrush and tongue cleaner, it isn’t particularly special.
NT even provides weekly care up to LDM, so I was like wow.
Still, the lymphatic-care therapist is kind and friendly, so I felt good every time I went. The lymphatic care also works well, so the swelling goes down quickly.
Oh, and not long after my surgery, my assigned manager quit lololol, so I couldn’t ask the manager a ton of questions,
and it felt frustrating. It would have been nice if they had connected me with another manager. But this was my case, and it probably won’t happen now.
Still, although there were disappointing parts, I chose this hospital considering convenience of location + the director’s skill + trust and safety, so I have no regrets.
