Back when I didn’t know anything, I got non-incisional suture double eyelid surgery at a local clinic in the provinces, and lived for 10 years with one side as an inline / the other side as a semi-out line with the fixation loosened. To others it might have looked like hopelessly uneven eyes lol, but functionally there was no problem, and it was just asymmetry, not something that felt ugly, so I lived without any major complaints. And if I got revision surgery, I vaguely thought I wanted to do a Japanese-style out-line with a small number of stitches and weak fixation by the non-incisional method, but I also gave up because I didn’t think there would be any place in Korea that operates that way and creates that distinctive Japanese-style double eyelid feeling. Then all of a sudden, on both sides, multiple creases formed above the lines, and the double eyelid line itself started coming undone by evening, so I had no choice but to look for a clinic. I had no interest at all and no intention of doing things like canthoplasty, ptosis correction, or removing eye fat, and only wanted non-incisional suturing, so I excluded factory-style large hospitals from the start. While casually looking mainly for clinics with good word of mouth, I saw consultation reviews and surgery reviews for ㅋㄹ and felt, this is it....! so I booked a consultation right away.
As I saw in the reviews, the doctor was kind and created all the lines I wanted to see: inline, in-out line, thin out-line, slightly deeper out-line. And they explained all the potential issues that could happen after surgery depending on which line was made with my eye shape and bone structure, and why, even if I wanted a certain feeling, it couldn’t come out that way because of my eye structure, etc.
And as I said before, I wanted only non-incisional suturing, without trying to overcome the limits of my eyes by adding any other surgeries.... Since the doctor said from the beginning that surgery was possible with the non-incisional method, I didn’t ask at all about canthoplasty, ptosis correction, or things like that. The doctor also didn’t recommend any of them at all.
Honestly, I was too lazy to go around to more places.... Bluntly speaking, even if the feeling I wanted didn’t come out and it failed, I thought it would be easy to fix because it’s just suturing, so after the consultation I booked surgery right away for the following week.
But for me... I simply had very clear needs, and they were far from touching lots of different areas of the eyes, and that matched ㅋㄹ doctor’s surgical direction? More than anything, I’m not sensitive and lived 10 years with uneven eyes without feeling any great despair, so I just had the consultation and immediately booked like this. But of course, it’s probably still good to go to several places for consultations......?
Then I had surgery right away the next week, and now about 10 days have passed. As I saw in the reviews, the swelling is really minimal, and even that small swelling goes down quickly. Even though the line was set higher than my first surgery. Also, on the day of surgery, I really liked that they treated me, the patient, with the three things of kindness + precision + trust. Yep. They were just like the reviews I had found here and there. I like the line too, and I think it came out with the feeling I wanted, but first, they said swelling will keep going down until two months, so I’ll watch the progress and come back to write a detailed post-op review in two or three months...... probably.....?
