My nasal bridge is average, neither low nor high I have a bulbous nose with a blunt tip, so the thing I’m most self-conscious about is that it looks like a huge nose from the front.. My eyes are relatively large because I take after my mom’s genes, so I wanted to make my nose higher too. After doing online research for 3 months, I finally went for in-person consultations..
1. ㅍㄹㅇㅂ After check-in, waited 10 minutes -> consultation about 20 minutes Both the director and the consultant were kind The consultant first listened to the nose style I wanted and took notes somewhere, and after hearing everything I had to say, I felt she explained things well in an easy-to-understand way She didn’t push one specific nasal material, but said there are materials like this and materials like that, so she recommended deciding after consulting with the director I had to wait again before meeting the director, but since this was my first consultation, I just thought all clinics must be like this~ and didn’t really mind The director looked a little tired, but was really kind. He shaped my nose line with a cotton swab, and it wasn’t as excessive as I had thought and looked okay, so I said I liked it. The director also said that rather than making it very flashy and high, a naturally glamorous style would suit me well He said I needed bulbous nose correction, and also hump correction. He said if silicone were placed on my current nose, the nasal dorsum wouldn’t look smooth.. and that using costal cartilage also seemed necessary After the director’s consultation ended, I spoke with the consultant again, and she seemed to have a lot of pride? in the director’s surgery There was no pressure to book, and I liked that she told me to comfortably look around more without feeling self-conscious I heard about hump correction, which I hadn’t expected at all, but overall it was a satisfying consultation
2. ㄹㅂㄹ After check-in, waited 10 minutes -> consultation about 40 minutes The clinic location was good, so I thought it would be convenient to go there. The interior was clean too Here too, both the director and consultant were kind The consultant first listened to the nose design I wanted, and rather than talking broadly about the surgery herself, she said it would be better to hear the overall explanation directly from the director and immediately connected me to the director’s consultation What I felt here was that it was really helpful when the director explained everything about the surgery. Shaping the nose line was a given, and I also liked that he looked at the design while talking about overall facial feature proportions? harmony? Based on the CT scan and what the director saw, he felt hump correction wasn’t really necessary, and said I needed bulbous nose correction + use of costal cartilage the same way He also explained the reason, saying not only was my septal cartilage insufficient, but my nasal bridge was short and small, so I needed a firm support structure. He said I didn’t have to decide right away what to use, and to listen to the pros and cons and choose carefully Here, the director’s consultation took up a higher proportion of the time, so I liked it more. I also liked that he asked first from time to time whether I understood and whether I had any other questions.. I think it would be perfect for people like me who hesitate because it’s hard to bring things up haha Here too, there was no pressure to book, and they said I could think about it more and come back. Still, I liked that the consultant reviewed the diagnosis again with me and also explained postoperative precautions and aftercare
3. ㄱㄴ After check-in, waited 5 minutes -> consultation about 30 minutes Unlike the previous clinics, here the consultant first asked whether I preferred donor costal cartilage or autologous costal cartilage. She probably said that after looking at the CT scan, but being suddenly asked to choose made me a bit flustered.. Still, I said for now I wanted donor costal cartilage The consultant seemed to be recommending autologous costal cartilage somehow, but anyway, when I said that was my preference, she said okay and I immediately had the consultation with the director The director had a very calm, gentle way of speaking.. The downside was that some parts were hard to hear, so I had to ask again The director also asked what nasal material I was considering, so when I said every place I’d visited recommended using costal cartilage, the director looked at the CT and said I should use autologous costal cartilage He said he would also use ear cartilage for the nasal tip, and that bulbous nose correction and short nose improvement should be done together so it could be shaped into the naturally glamorous style I wanted. He also said it would be good to define the nasolabial angle line. He asked if there was anything else I wanted explained besides that, so I felt he was looking at things carefully But maybe because I received more diagnoses than I expected, the cost felt like it jumped sharply..? If I booked the same day, it would drop by almost 1 million won, but I kept thinking about that and ended up leaving without booking..
Wrap-up In common, I heard the same thing: bulbous nose correction + use of costal cartilage There is a clinic I like, but I think choosing the nasal material is the hardest part.. If I keep thinking about it and still don’t know, I’m planning to go for another consultation or visit more places
