I'm going around for consultations, and every hospital says something completely different. I had an extension done with donor rib cartilage.. But the opinions are split between: If you remove the extension and build a new support, it'll still be just as hard, so why bother rebuilding it? vs. Yes, it is hard, but compared with lengthening surgery, ear cartilage and septal support are definitely less rigid, and donor rib extensions push outward too strongly, which can cause visibility anyway. If you consider side effects later on, removal is better. Has anyone had the extension removed and then had surgery with a new support, or had support made with ear cartilage and later regretted it because it sagged...?
