Before <uneven eyes with narrow eyes before double eyelid surgery,,> After <right after double eyelid surgery!> After <post-op day 2-3> After <after removing the stitches!> After <first day of makeup at 1 month!> After <swelling was going down between 1 and 2 months> After <bare face at 2 months!> After <daily makeup at 2 months!> I originally meant to write this at the 1-month mark, but I was planning to go to college and then suddenly decided to take another year, so my dorm academy vacation kept getting pushed back, and I’m only writing it now I always used to say I’d get double eyelid surgery when I went to college, and as someone with narrow eyes and no visible crease,,, I kept browsing this community every day and finally decided on surgery!! I’m such a scaredy-cat, so I spent almost a whole week doing online research on sites like this community and Gangnam Unni, then made a consultation list of more than 7 clinics and visited all of them over 3 days! (I live near Gangnam, so the distance wasn’t too much of a burden!) I also wrote out my question list until it almost filled two memo pages
The eye shape I wanted: an in-out line where the inner corner is visible. But I absolutely did not want a semi-out line. // I hate it when an in-out line gets thicker toward the outer corner / I wanted it to end with a consistent thickness all the way through. // I really hate sunken-looking lines.
I guess I wrote everything down in a super conservative way..! Every time we set the line, I kept asking them to lower it so it would absolutely, definitely not become sausage eyes
But my eyes are not only narrow in width, the bone structure around them is also very small, so everyone said a canthoplasty at the outer corner was impossible, and even if any widening were done, it would only be a tiny medial canthoplasty, so there would be almost no difference in size And because my eye muscles are so strong, I heard the same thing at all 7 places: if it’s not an incision method, it absolutely won’t work,,, sob sob
I went around with my parents, and even though we visited all the really famous places, there were almost none that I liked... Some places felt like Chinese factory-style clinics, and at others they kept saying this can’t be done and that can’t be done, which made me feel unnecessarily intimidated
But...!! At Thank You Plastic Surgery, both my parents and I felt something different. When they set the line, they didn’t just casually draw it; they kept measuring it in centimeters, labeling each section, and setting it evenly. They kept working with the shape/line I requested and adjusted the right shape together with me! And instead of listing a bunch of things I supposedly had to do, they only told me exactly what was necessary! In fact, I was the one who brought up ptosis correction first Since I don’t have true ptosis, they even said it might actually be better not to do it And about the buried-suture method that everyone else said was impossible, they were really honest! They said it wasn’t impossible, but people say that because they’re afraid it might come undone, and if I wanted, I could do buried sutures now and later have a revision with incision method Since I was already preparing for the possibility of it loosening because my eye muscles are strong, and because I’m extremely conservative, I decided to go with buried sutures, which seemed to have a less intense aftereffect! (To be honest, because of how extremely cautious I am,,, I had 2 consultations,,,, haha)
And the progress! Actually, for the first week after surgery, I could barely see anything in front of me, and I had a strong feeling of “why did I do this, I ruined it”
Even after the stitches came out, I kept wondering if it was uneven and regretted it a lot At that time, the scar from the inner corner surgery also kept bothering me
But..! The moment I put on makeup at 1 month, I thought, ooooh, I’m glad I did it I can finally see eyeliner now But it still looked a little puffy, so honestly I was a bit worried What if it stays like this forever
But..!! Ah, my choice was not wrong. At 2 months... Bare face, daily makeup, and even the makeup I got done professionally at a salon all looked pretty To someone seeing me for the first time, it’s become so natural they might not even know I had double eyelid surgery And even though I had buried sutures, up to now at more than 2 months there’s not a single feeling like it’s coming undone, and it’s holding really firmly! Honestly,,, I feel like I was born again,,, I’m strongly recommending it to everyone around me Fighting, everyone!!
