I went to View Plastic Surgery, and since it was actually not great, I feel relieved. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to choose just by searching online, but once I actually went for a consultation, there were places I could filter out.
It’s a very large major hospital, and the waiting time was about 30 minutes. Consultation with consultant-director-consultant, CT scan, and a 10,000 won consultation fee.
I don’t know if it was because I’m not a suitable case for facial contouring, but both the consultant and the director felt like they were giving a mechanical, rough consultation..
I only had a chin consultation, and they said my chin itself isn’t big, but the angle makes it look long, and because my nerve line is low, there isn’t much they can shave, and it isn’t a square jaw either, so only slight line refinement would be possible. They said if I wanted what I was aiming for, two-jaw surgery would be the answer, but my occlusion is good, so they didn’t recommend two-jaw surgery...
The consultation wasn’t even 10 minutes. The nuance of what they were saying felt like, “Do you really want to pay this much money and have this big surgery just to shave this?” lol During the consultant’s consultation too, I felt like she was just reciting a formal manual. I was the one clinging and asking if there weren’t any cases of people with a long face like mine who shaved it slightly, and asking to see before-and-after photos. The answer I got was, “Honestly, I don’t think there are cases for this level of case..” so I was flustered;; Then I asked if there would be cases for two-jaw surgery, and they said, “People don’t do two-jaw surgery for a face at this level,” so.. I had no choice but to say “Okay...” and leave. It felt like, “It probably won’t have a dramatic effect anyway, so hurry up and go so I can get off work!” Of course, the tone was kind.
If I hadn’t had facial contouring consultations elsewhere, I would have just thought, “I guess I’m someone who doesn’t need facial contouring,” but it just felt like they were worn out from work and trying to end the consultation quickly and casually, so it was a pretty disappointing consultation. So I’m going to feel lighter about getting more consultations elsewhere!
