Before <my natural nose before nose surgery> After <after surgery> After <condition after removal> <what came out of my nose> After my first surgery at some Gangnam hospital failed, I had early removal at ㄱㅇㅅ after just 18 days.
This is my day 0 review after early removal.
I had functional nose surgery for a deviated septum and hypertrophic inferior turbinate rhinitis / cosmetic rhinoplasty through an open approach with 3.3 mm silicone, septal extension, a support graft (I think I need to confirm the support graft), and ear cartilage.
I barely slept, turned off my alarms several times, barely got up, and arrived right on time without being late. They told me to pick up my medication first, so I went down to the first floor, got the prescription filled, went back up, and handed it over. They showed me the hospital room I would be in after surgery, and said I needed to change clothes, so I changed, leaving only my bra and panties on. (I guess underwear is okay as long as it has no metal.) I washed my face and took out my contacts. I tied my hair into a bun. I went to the operating room first and they trimmed my nose hair. As you know, with the machine going bzzzzz~ Then I waited and had a consultation with the director.
If you’ve seen my posts, you know this, but the consultant and director were really cold and just... yeah haha
But the day before, I had organized what I wanted to ask in a small notebook and brought it with me. He said, “You asked a lot on the first day, and you wrote more things down to ask again?” He remembers his patients. I thought I hadn’t asked much... but the director thought we had consulted a lot hahaha The conclusion? He was kind and attentive haha People are so fickle... I had been so annoyed, but today my heart just melted~~ haha
We talked about everything, and I asked what I wanted to ask... I didn’t show the director photos of my natural nose. The director took all the photos. Front, top, diagonal, underneath... you know, right? The director confidently said it would be prettier than my natural nose. He said the things I was worried about wouldn’t happen.
Then to the operating room for surgery... I was so nervous that they gave me a sedative first. I was about to say something... I don’t even remember whether I greeted the director or not... Anyway, I was about to say something, and then they woke me up near the very end. I felt something like a prick... I may or may not have said, “Thank you, doctor~” They said I had to walk to the hospital room, so two people helped me up, I staggered, walked to the room, and lay down. I was extremely cold and shaking like crazy from the operating room all the way to the hospital room. It was nice that they turned on the electric heating pad.
If you’ve seen my posts, you know my right nasal airway is narrower. As soon as I woke up, I said, “I can’t breathe~~” and they said, “You’re breathing well~” When I said, “I can’t breathe through my right nostril~” they said, “You’re breathing well~”... Maybe I got an injection on the right side, because only my right nostril had no feeling at all, but the sensation came back later.
Air goes out through both sides. When I inhale, the right side is just a little difficult...
After lying down for about an hour, the nurse came in and removed the IV needle, explained the precautions I needed to follow, and left. The consultant came in, checked on me, and explained things too... She had seemed very blunt, but when I went to the restroom, she helped me a lot by my side. My heart melted again~ fickle me hahaha
After waiting, the director came after finishing surgery and showed me what he had removed from my nose. Other people post it in black and white, but I’ll just post it as is. You’ve probably all seen it or will see it anyway. Silicone, septal cartilage... capsule... four layers of ear cartilage... I was really shocked... four layers. I hated that only my nasal tip was so round. Anyway, after seeing that, he was about to leave right away, so I said I had something to ask, though I wanted to ask more... I asked if I could use a hyaluronic acid spray called Co&... He thought about it and told me to use it. He said my breathing should be much better~ But right now it’s hard haha The nurse said to spray it only morning and night, and it’s a secret that the consultant said not to spray it hahaha
Then my friend was on the way, so I came out. The director said goodbye to me... my heart melted again hahaha As you can see in the photos, other people only have tape on their nose... but I had this ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I came out and waited for my friend, but I looked totally like a monkey, so I hid behind a utility pole...
I have Danggui-san, swelling-reducing tea, pumpkin tea... things like that haha They told me to do cold compresses for 3 days.
During my first surgery, I didn’t bruise, didn’t swell, and didn’t have pain either... I thought it was just my constitution, but I guess it’s like that at hospitals that don’t pack the nose with cotton. Anyway, I’m just going to walk a lot... looking like this... with a hat and mask haha but the splint still shows... haha
My nasal tip is still purple... I’m very worried. And the nasal tip is lifted. The splint comes off on Tuesday. It could come off Monday, but Monday is a day off...
I’m worried because the nasal tip is lifted and purple, but I think it will get better once the splint is removed. I hope my nose comes down too.
As for contraction medication and scar tissue medication... the consultant said I need to take them after 3 weeks (I guess all hospitals set it this way). They said I shouldn’t take them together with antibiotics.
But the director said he would let me take them if I wanted. So I’m planning to finish the antibiotics and then take them, and I’ll get a prescription when I go on Tuesday.
I’m also planning to buy scar ointment.
I was really worried about the columella, but right now it’s covered so I don’t know haha
I did have scar tissue removal, but they said removing all of it could make the skin thinner, so I don’t think they removed everything.
I’m planning to ask on Tuesday what exactly was done. Until Tuesday, I’m going to pray my nose doesn’t get blocked... I don’t know if you can see well in the photos, but my nose looks very small because of the tape. Originally my nostrils are round...
If I can post after I go on Tuesday, I will.
