The first date I contacted the hospital to make an appointment was January 17, 2024, and I wanted the earliest Saturday available for a consultation, so I went for the consultation on February 24. First of all, I had done a huge amount of online research through communities and apps, and what especially drew me to this clinic was that there were many comments saying it was expensive. I don’t know why that drew me in lol, but I went with the mindset, “If it’s expensive, they must be good??!” Since a nose stays with you for life, I think I didn’t want to do it cheaply or carelessly....
Yes... after getting the consultation, I received a quote at a price I had never imagined. What’s funny is that I came out after putting down a deposit here. (I also went to many other consultations.. Compared with quotes from other places, it was at least 2-3 times more expensive and at most up to 6 times more expensive, and the doctor wasn’t extremely kind either, so yeah, what was it?)
I had the surgery on March 9. For me, it was a 3D alar procedure (minimal intranasal incision alar reduction + improvement of alar drooping + improvement of alar curvature) + subnasal incision columella improvement cost!
It’s now a little over one month since surgery. I don’t know exactly how long the surgery took, but I think it was around 1:30-2 hours. The anesthesia was not general anesthesia, but local anesthesia. I liked that! During surgery, they used a monitoring device (it seemed like they were checking things like heart rate/blood pressure/oxygen saturation). Since I was scared and couldn’t breathe well, I’m not sure if that’s why they monitored me, but the doctor told me to follow their breathing, and after doing it a few times, my fear went away. And I didn’t feel any pain at all. You know how when you go to the dentist to have a wisdom tooth removed, it only hurts during the anesthesia and doesn’t hurt when they remove it, right? There was no pain at all. Because it was local anesthesia, they showed me the shape during surgery. At that time my nose was swollen and bulky, so I didn’t like it, and I told the doctor, “I’m not sure...” before leaving lol At that time there is swelling, so don’t worry too much,, I’ll leave a detailed review for everyone. To go back a little further and describe my condition: Day of surgery -> After surgery, I went to Myeongdong Station and ate kalguksu (It was in the form of gauze under my nose with tape attached, so eating was possible) Day after surgery -> Went straight to work (I wore a mask to work, and literally no one knew) Surgery D+4 -> The area where the sutures protruded bothered me (It’s been a month now, and maybe I’m dull, but it doesn’t bother me at all) Surgery D+6 -> The nasal tip became red, sutures removed (I hadn’t even had an implant placed, so the redness felt strange. When I went to the hospital, they said it was an unusual case. So they opened the nose to check whether there was inflammation and prescribed antibiotics) Surgery D+14 -> Because of the red nasal-tip event, they opened it again and finally removed one stitch that hadn’t been undone (It got better after taking antibiotics for a week. At this time, I cried every day wondering if I had done it for nothing) Surgery D+30 -> Huh? Right, I had my nose done?! I need to write a review! This is the stream of consciousness of my nose surgery.
That’s how, after about a month,,, I can live a normal daily life to the point of forgetting about it. At 2 weeks, I went to work without a mask, and no one knew. I didn’t even tell really close people, but no one knew.
My surgery satisfaction is 90%. Others may not know, but when I look in the mirror, I like my smaller nose! But why not 100%? The cost,,, ㅠㅡㅠ And for the scar, I’m pretty insensitive, so it doesn’t bother me. If I had to pick a downside, I’m conscious of it when blowing my nose.
