Before<slight hump and tip droop before surgery, nasolabial angle is small so I had a duck mouth and a more prominent chin>Before<front view before surgery, blackheads sorry sorry>Before<diagonal angle before surgery, my insane nasolabial angle was so irritating, like a mouth that always looks like it wants to say something…>After<first day after surgery, the nosebleed and runny nose started coming out like pee you’ve been holding in, at a rest stop…>After<the day the packing was removed>After<one day after the packing was removed, day 4 after surgery; I couldn’t wash so my face was shiny as hell, this was the real crazy part>After<morning the day after the splint was removed, morning of day 7 after surgery, a little swollen>After<two days after the splint was removed, day 8 after surgery, even from a diagonal angle it looks good~>After<current day 10 after surgery>After<front view, I got a tiny pimple right before my period; there is still some swelling so from the front it looks a bit plump, but I wasn’t specifically aiming for a thin nose, so it’s fine> It has been 10 days since surgery, and I really, really, really love it so much that I’m posting this hoping it helps people who are deliberation about nose surgery or who have a flat side profile and are wondering whether they should do contouring or fillers. The price included the eyes.
I basically have no side cheekbone or front cheekbone, and because the muscles above my mouth are large, I have a duck mouth and my chin is long and prominent (by my own standards), so I wanted to fix things efficiently and make my face look like it had been blessed with talent wherever needed.
After hanging around this community for about a month, I learned that if you bring the nasolabial angle close to 90 degrees, even a flat face gains more dimension and the chin looks less prominent.
So I brought in photos of the celebrity nose I wanted, made a PPT saying I wanted nasolabial angle correction, columella reduction, and the whole bridge done, and basically gave a full presentation.
I wasn’t promised I’d write a review, so I’ll keep the hospital name private. If you leave a secret comment, I’ll tell you. But for reference, I was exhausted from making the PPT, so I just looked through all the reviews in this community, picked the one that caught my eye, booked the first consultation, got lazy, and just decided to go with that place. My original nose shape wasn’t that twisted or severely collapsed anyway, so please keep in mind that it can differ from person to person…
First, I wanted to fix a slight hump, a drooping tip, a flat side profile, and a prominent chin, so as described above I got nasolabial angle correction, columella reduction, ear cartilage in the tip, and 2 mm silicone in the bridge.
Honestly, people say nose surgery is dangerous and tell you not to do it, and I somewhat agree, because the week from when the packing is removed until the splint comes off is really unbelievably hard… People who get nose surgery are really the type who can do anything, no matter what, their willpower is insane. I think revision patients are the kind of people who could be thrown onto a deserted island and still survive lol
I did it together with eye surgery too, so the cost was pretty high. I also got all the eyelids opened in every direction and had double eyelid surgery, so even though I’m not very swollen, on the first day my eyes wouldn’t close…
After nose surgery, I could only breathe through my mouth, so my mouth got completely dry, and whenever I tried to drink water, the pressure while drinking made the packing in my nose torment me even more. My lips got awful mouth ulcers. It takes a week from packing removal to splint removal, and that week felt like an eternity to me, like I’d been put under infinite tsukuyomi. At first I was like, nose surgery? Yeah, just do it with the mindset that you might need a revision~ But honestly, unless someone gave me 30 million won to do it, I don’t think I could.
I’m still sleeping at an angle while sitting up, and until the splint came off I bought a triangular cushion and slept sitting up, drank four swelling-reduction teas a day, massaged my lymph nodes whenever I had a spare moment, and stretched. I did cold compresses whenever I could during the first 3 days, and after that I worked hard on warm compresses, walked 20 minutes a day, and sat in a massage chair beating up my whole body… That helped the swelling go down pretty fast, in my own case. But this really seems to vary from person to person. Honestly, I can’t say I managed it that diligently, since I didn’t walk that much lol
Everyone says don’t get nose surgery because it’s too hard, too expensive, and the risks are huge, and that’s true. It’s insanely hard. But mine went well, and I’m ridiculously satisfied.
The hardest part is definitely the packing, and after that, since I’m a crazy heavy smoker, resisting cigarettes was unbelievably hard. Honestly, on day 5 I felt like I was going insane, so I smoked three sticks of an e-cigarette a day. This is still unknown, but if necrosis happens, it’s fully my responsibility, so I can’t say anything ㅇㅇ After smoking the e-cigarette, I immediately took anti-inflammatory medicine, smoked one after breakfast, lunch, and dinner, then crushed the soles of my feet with a massage ball and stretched for 30 minutes each time, so it seems okay so far… Still, not smoking is best. I just couldn’t hold out at all, so I did smoke, but I don’t recommend it. If it gets too hard, do what I did… I still can’t say for sure either thoughㅇㅇ The reason nicotine is bad is that it impairs blood circulation, which causes swelling and inflammation, so if you stretch, drink 1 liter of swelling-reduction tea as soon as you wake up, and keep working on your feet, you can at least lower the odds a bit. But I’m not a doctor, so don’t trust me. Since I’ve been smoking a pack of regular cigarettes and a pack of e-cigarettes a day for over 6 years and have never really been hit hard by nicotine, maybe it’s also about body type. I haven’t had acne since elementary school, and it usually disappears within a day or two for me, with scars not really left behind, so so far there’s no problem. I’m worried too, so I don’t plan to increase it any more; it’s your own responsibility, so please judge for yourself…
I went on too long about smoking, but getting back to the main point, I think the best way to reduce a flat side profile and the prominence of the chin is nasolabial angle correction. I hear people don’t do it much these days, but I’m really, really satisfied. The swelling still isn’t fully gone yet (obviously, it’s only been 10 days), so it has a Pinocchio-like feeling, but I think in about 3 months, as it adheres, it’ll get better.
I don’t have photos for day 5 or 6, but I recorded as much as I could.
Until the packing is removed after surgery is the worst part >Once the packing comes out, can you finally eat a bit? The nose is still swollen and packed tight by the splint, so my cheeks are crazy swollen and even a little bit of spicy food only makes the pain of spiciness come through. >The moment the splint comes off, you feel refreshed like you could inhale the whole world, but at the same time you’re horrified by the rotten smell coming from a face that hasn’t been washed for a week and by all the sebum. >I couldn’t hold back and on the first day after the splint came off, I made a ton of foam with cleansing foam and washed myself three times, very gently, like handling a baby. >Because tape had been stuck to my cheeks, the stickiness was intense and dead skin was flaking up like crazy, so the day after the splint came off I used cleansing oil very, very, very gently to clear the sebum, and since I didn’t touch the nostrils, I worked them hard, then removed dead skin from only the cheeks so as not to strain the nose five times. After that, the cheeks became clean, and my nose sebum no longer looks so dirty. >Current day 10: I still haven’t gotten used to my nose height, so I keep bumping myself with my own hand… The inside of my nose is swollen, so of course I can’t breathe like before. But my appetite has started coming back, so I can slowly eat again. I did a simple makeup look with skin, eyebrows, and blush. The recommended time to wear makeup is 2 weeks, but because I had no choice, when doing base makeup I didn’t press or wipe the nose with the cushion; I lightly placed it on and moved the cushion to both sides so it adhered, and that caused no strain while still keeping good coverage.
There’s still no adhesion yet, the swelling hasn’t even gone down fully, the bruising is still showing a bit yellow, I’ve been smoking e-cigarettes again (I’ll gladly accept the beating), and I don’t know how things will turn out yet… but I’ve been applying ointment constantly, stretching like crazy, and drinking a total of about 3 liters of swelling-reduction tea or decoction, so right now I’m extremely satisfied.
When the swelling goes down more, I think the philtrum that looks long because the tip is drooping will gradually go back too. It’s only day 10, so I can’t say for sure, but if you have any questions, let me know. I’ll try to answer what I can!!!!
I hope this helps even a little for people who are thinking about nose surgery…
