It’s almost been 3 weeks since I had revision rhinoplasty (autologous costal cartilage, nostril reduction, long-nose correction, and silicone height improvement) with Director Lee Jun-woo at Huhuhoojeon Private Plastic Surgery Clinic.
The issues with my previous nose were that it looked long because of overly long silicone, my nostrils looked like a dragon nose, and my alar base widened when I smiled. But it had been 8 years since my first surgery and I had been fine without any problems, and honestly my nose didn’t look like it had major obvious issues, so I thought about it a lot. I was still really debating even on the day of surgery.
But if I was going to have surgery, I had no hesitation that I would do it at Private with Director Lee Jun-woo. I compared only the website photos of plastic surgery clinics known for revision rhinoplasty and autologous costal cartilage, and I carefully checked how long the director had been a specialist and whether he was the head director before deciding. And since the end of last year, I actually went to more than 5 rhinoplasty consultations. To be honest, since I only sought out famous directors, most of the medical opinions were similar. The fact that there were limitations in design because my nasal skin was thin, that changing the silicone and lifting the nasal tip would definitely improve the long nose, and surgical methods for changing the nasal tip shape were all more or less similar among the directors.
So how did I decide on this clinic? I decided by looking at the directors’ results through website photos and review photos. When you look at unedited frontal, side, and 45-degree photos, you can see each director’s own aesthetic sense. Just as everyone has different standards of beauty, all directors operate with the goal of making a pretty nose, but each director differs on what the optimal height should be to make it refined and pretty, not look long, and minimize complications. I really liked Director Lee Jun-woo’s results, and after the consultation I felt confident that he would also take responsible care of aftercare, so I decided. On the day of surgery, it took about 3 and a half hours, and when I woke up from anesthesia, I was surprised by how neatly it was taped with no swelling. When I wore a beak-shaped mask, only about 5 mm of the skin-colored bandage between my eyebrows showed, and there wasn’t much eye swelling. There was swelling on days 3-4, but it wasn’t severe, so thankfully I could guess that it hadn’t been as rough a surgery as I expected. When the splint was removed at week 1, the words “Director, you’re really amazing” came out naturally. Honestly, the revision surgery cost was burdensome, but I thought that with results like this, it was definitely worth paying. Oh, from week 1 to week 2, because of swelling, my philtrum looked long and I had a monkey-like look. At that time I worried that the balance of my face had collapsed, but it was needless worry. Once the swelling went down, thankfully the balance came back well, and without problems in other areas, only my nose became pretty!
