I went to a facial contouring consultation at ㅅㅅㅇ Plastic Surgery because I wanted cheekbone surgery.. Around last October? There was only one facial contouring director, so there was no need to choose a specific doctor, and there was no consultation fee. At the time, I think it was around 1 or 2 on a Saturday. I came in, filled out the chart, waited about 10 minutes, took a CT scan, then about 10 minutes later went into the consultation room. For a Saturday, there really wasn’t much waiting.. There weren’t no people either, so it was interesting lololololol The consultant briefly asked what I wanted and said she would bring in the doctor.
When my face is seen from the front, my cheekbones don’t protrude, but when seen at a 45-degree angle, the slight angular look of my cheekbones was really stressing me out.. I don’t really have a square jaw, but I have some muscle so I get Botox regularly, and my chin was originally a bit short and small, so I had 2 cc of chin filler 3 years ago. I also had 1 cc of lip filler 3 years ago.
The doctor came about 15 minutes later, and before even looking at the CT, he palpated my face first. I was surprised because he immediately noticed the chin filler and lip filler.. He said it seemed like there was a little lip filler, and quite a lot of chin filler still remained. After palpating, we looked at the CT together.
When I said I wanted a doll-like facial line, he said I’m not someone with prominent cheekbones, so even if the part slightly visible from a 45-degree angle were shaved down, the visible difference wouldn’t be huge. He also said my jaw doesn’t really have an angle either, and if I were to do anything, advancing the anterior chin would probably be more effective. He said my nerve line isn’t particularly low, so if I wanted the doll-like line I wanted, they could also work on the area connecting the chin and anterior chin to make it slimmer, and that the cheekbones could be shaved as well. What he kept emphasizing during the explanation was that the effect would not be dramatic. He said that if I got facial contouring, it would really be in the realm of personal satisfaction, and it would only make my facial line look slightly more refined. Then he asked why I wanted contouring, and when I said I wanted to look smoother in photos, he said that people these days take a lot of photos and use social media a lot, so many people come in because of how they look in photos. He said that in his opinion, there were no angles that stood out to the naked eye, and that it was a degree that could be sufficiently improved with procedures like Botox and filler. He consulted with me for a really long time, and it was nice that he explained everything I was curious about in detail. When people around me asked why I wanted facial contouring, honestly it went in one ear and out the other, you know? But when the doctor said this was a surgical case that wasn’t necessarily needed, that’s when I finally heard those words a bit lololol For now, he told me to get quotes for three options: three-part contouring, cheekbones, and anterior chin advancement. After I finished asking questions, the doctor left and the consultant came in.
She said if I did square jaw and anterior chin advancement (I’m not sure about this), I would be hospitalized for one day, and cheekbone surgery would be same-day discharge! She showed me before-and-after photos and gave me quotes for several options. What touched me was that I had left a consultation request for an August three-part facial contouring event and made the appointment, but I went to the consultation in early to mid-October?????? Since I had applied for the event in August, apparently the doctor said to give me the event price for the three-part contouring. It was three-part contouring, and the price was in the 8 million won range (including VAT). The price advantage was clear, and the consultant was calm and didn’t push excessive surgery at all, which was nice. And the doctor’s consultation was really, really the real deal.. I think the consultation lasted over 20 minutes. He explained things in great detail and spoke honestly, which I liked. I had consultation appointments at other hospitals afterward too, but because the doctor honestly told me the effect wouldn’t be dramatic, I just canceled all the consultations and am living as I am. Even so, the reason I’m leaving this consultation review is because facial contouring is such a major surgery, and it’s a surgery where you need several follow-ups, so I know people wonder what the doctor’s style is like, and I also know well the feeling of wondering whether to go for a consultation or not when making a list..
