Before-before-before-before-before natural adhesion (2 years ago) + lower canthoplasty only (post-op day 3!) I had it done at ㅇㅇㅍ near Sinsa Station!
While getting my third nose revision, I was also dealing with a lower canthoplasty issue that had been my complex during recovery... Since I was posting about canthoplasty this time, I thought it would be good to share my totally natural-looking eyes from birth + natural adhesion review + canthoplasty review together, so I’m writing this post
So what happened was that I had natural adhesion done 2 years ago at ㄷㅇㅇ, and after getting double eyelid surgery, I heard a lot that my eyes were pretty, so I went around in person and online looking for options. Then when I went to find that same doctor, they said he wasn’t there anymore, and I was really disappointed.. I searched the doctor on this community right away and it turned out the place he’s at now is ㅇㅇㅍㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
But seriously, I thought about it a lot... I really did a lot of searching both in person and online
<Birth-eye type>-------------------------------------------------- Small eyes (almost no room for outer canthoplasty) + eyes sink in when smiling + deeply set eyes + asymmetrical birth-eye position..
You can tell from the before/after photos, but my eyes are quite deep-set.. and when I smile my eyes get buried Everyone, please post things like this in your reviews too... I hope it helps people like me.. There was almost no difference in space for outer canthoplasty, so I originally went in for a consultation thinking only about lower canthoplasty (even by touch, my eyeballs are quite small..)
When I first had double eyelid surgery, I thought I’d just do double eyelids and be done with it, but as you can see from the side view.. because part of the iris is covered, my eyes kept looking kind of sharp/harsh.. It was a bit different from the kind of pretty eyes I had in mind (the back part of the eyeball is too short)
And also I... If you look at the birth-eye photos, you can tell my face is quite asymmetrical, so the positions of my eyes are a bit different on each side It’s really sad... my eyes are kind of.. placed diagonally... in slightly different positions from each other.. it’s about a 5~10 px difference. Just looking at the eyes it’s about that much, but the jaw is even worse (It’s not that the heights are different, it’s that the positions are different큐)
<Lower canthoplasty / consultation with the doctor>-------------------------------------------------- The doctor... when I told them what I wanted.. they were like, “It’s a pretty eye even without doing anything... but if you really... really... want to do it..?.,..... I can... do it for you... really...” so... even though it felt kind of trivial...... since it was my complex... I said please do it.... and I got it done...... 아.. it was seriously so embarrassing..
From the doctor’s point of view, it seemed like an unnecessary surgery, so they kept saying things like “if you really... really... want to...” and didn’t recommend it.. The manager said the same thing too... like, “You don’t need it... hmm... really... hmm...” 하... man... I was so embarrassed..
But if you look at the attached photos, you probably understand what kind of complex I felt, right?? Even up until a week before surgery I was seriously debating whether I really needed it, but then the day before I suddenly thought maybe I wanted to do it a little more aggressively(?)
At the first consultation I really said I wanted it to look as natural as possible.
But this... right after surgery, when I looked at each eye separately, the degree of canthoplasty was slightly different It seems like the doctor adjusted the symmetric position under the eyes..... My left and right eyes originally had about a 5~10 px difference in height, but no matter how I look at it it seems like the symmetric height has been matched.. sob.. the symmetry has to be right for the face to look pretty, and even though the canthoplasty is a bit disappointing, I really love this
<Pain from canthoplasty>-------------------------------------------------- But seriously... everyone, what feels so betraying is when the anesthesia from lower canthoplasty wore off and evening came, it was really........ why did nobody tell me this,,,,,

I seriously thought my eyeballs were being pulled out.. Ah, the sense of betrayal is insane, why did nobody tell me........ I think it hurt way more than double eyelid surgery... natural adhesion honestly didn’t hurt at all???????????? Still, I was fine again as soon as a day passed, but ah..... it really hurt so much...
The surgery only took about 30 minutes Most importantly, the recovery room and operating room were separate, and there was a CCTV camera in the operating room that I could see from my own view once I went in. The nurses in the operating room were nice too. I’d been so tense the day before that I couldn’t sleep at all, and I went there after staying up all night so I was exhausted..
<Lower canthoplasty side effects?>-------------------------------------------------- I have a constitution that gets conjunctivitis, so whenever the seasons changed I’d have regular eye problems.. My conjunctiva swelled up a little, but it was a really familiar(?) feeling, so it didn’t bother me much
If you’re someone with a birth-eye type similar to mine, you should definitely check this place out Looking at the clinic booklet, the after photos of patients who had surgery looked a lot like my eyes now, and seeing how many after photos there were for under-eye fat repositioning, it seems like they do a lot of that too, not just double eyelids
Because of dark circles I’ve been getting under-eye fillers over and over again (see my post - filler review), so when I eventually get under-eye fat repositioning I feel like I’ll definitely do it here.. Thinking about it so much feels stupid
If there’s any side effect, maybe the eye-smile??? But for me... if you look at the photos, it’s a huge plus...
< Pros/cons of lower canthoplasty>-------------------------------------------------- For people like me who smile and get their eyes buried.. people who have to go out and lose their smiles..,.... I recommend lower canthoplasty...... honestly, this was a benefit I really didn’t expect.....
Actually, while reading reviews I was worried a lot because people said there could be side effects from lower canthoplasty or that they might lose their eye-smile... When they say side effect... it’s scary, right...
But.... if you look at how my eyes originally were... no matter how I did my makeup, when I smiled my eyes would get completely buried
The photos above are of me smiling in a slightly scrunched-up way, but I usually don’t make much of an eye-smile anyway, so I decided it didn’t matter and got it done. But seriously, this was an unexpected result for me. This part is truly completely satisfying for my constitution..
Actually better.. actually better.... Ah.. everyone.. do your research and go to the right clinic... seriously... got it?
<Things to watch out for when choosing an eye surgery clinic>-------------------------------------------------- And what I learned while looking for canthoplasty-related posts: Really research eye clinics carefully, everyone.... While I was searching for eye clinics, I think I found at least three or four clinics where the review posts had disappeared. This really happens a lot...
Especially for ptosis correction, think really carefully... I seriously spent about a month doing a lot of in-person and online research. I even left a deposit at one of the places I was considering after visiting, but after seeing a post about it I got a refund right away. But it wasn’t just one or two places like that, and while there are many good clinics, I think the fact is there are also plenty that aren’t good I hope you carefully research and make a good choice
