Since I came back to this community for the first time in ages, I’m dropping a nose review and leaving!! Honestly, I’ve really wanted breast reduction surgery and umbilicoplasty since last year, but I kept putting them off, so I logged in after a long time thinking I’d at least do some online research in advance… but no matter how much I searched, there wasn’t much information, so I’m sad.. sob.. Anyway, I don’t think I’ve ever left a nose review in this community, so since I’m here, I’m writing one. I was too lazy to make collage comparisons until now.. But after doing it this time, I really feel like the surgery was so worth it lol
My crooked nose looked very different depending on the lighting and angle. Most of the time, I had tons of photos and videos where it looked completely S-shaped, almost unbearable to look at, and when I was lucky and the angle was good or the lighting was strong enough to wash out the unevenness, it looked less crooked… So in person or in selfies it was at least tolerable, but in photos taken by other people, my nose was always extremely stressful and awful… So in the end, I made up my mind and had nose surgery. But even then, I was very worried and anxious, so to minimize the risk of side effects, I insisted on using only ear cartilage. I didn’t want rib cartilage because I was scared after seeing many posts about side effects like later bending, contraction, or an upturned nose.. And of course I absolutely, absolutely, never wanted silicone because I was worried about inflammation, rejection, and side effects.. So the only thing I could work up the courage for was septal cartilage and ear cartilage, and I did a huge amount of online and in-person research before doing it. Most hospital directors don’t like deviating from the surgical methods they always use, so they ignored my opinion and ultimately pressured me into rib cartilage and silicone with one excuse after another. What most of them said = if I didn’t listen to them, I could never expect correction of the crooked nose, and the most they could do would be shaving down the hump and making the nasal tip a bit slimmer, so it wouldn’t work. It can’t be done. Then when I talked as if I wouldn’t have surgery, they were like, well, it’s your choice, do what you want. That kind of vibe… It felt like being gaslit… It felt a bit uncomfortable and ambiguous.. I hated that, so I felt disillusioned, but at the hospital I went to for a consultation as my last hope, the director consulted with me in exactly the attitude I had hoped for, so I booked right away and left.
He examined my CT and touched my nose very carefully and thoroughly while thinking through it, and he was the only one who didn’t pressure me. He said there are noses that can’t be done without implants, but with my nose, he could definitely do his best and make it look pretty using only ear cartilage. He explained that the wish noses I originally brought had a naturally glamorous line, so if I absolutely wanted that amount of height and flashiness, he would recommend rib cartilage. But he also said, what would be the point if I ended up anxious and worried every day even after pretty surgery? He said he understood how I felt, and while he couldn’t guarantee a naturally glamorous line, he would raise it as high as possible while keeping it natural. He said honestly, if he operated with rib cartilage, it would be easier for him to make it pretty, but he would still try to make it as similar as possible with ear cartilage. The moment I heard that, I felt like I had struck gold! I decided right away that I had to do it here. He was truly exactly the kind of director I wanted…
My rhinitis has always been very severe since childhood, so I was planning to do all 3 types of functional nose surgery too.. I told him other hospitals had recommended all 3, but the director was like, “Why bother? Why?” and said doing the nasal valve too would be excessive, that my nose was not that severe, and that nasal valve surgery is a procedure that must be done while considering considerable risk, so why do that for a nose like this? He honestly removed what was unnecessary. So once again, I made up my mind. This is the place. lol
Anyway, he said he would try to correct the crooked nose as much as possible, but because my nasal tip was very thick and the skin had a strong presence, I might not get as much effect as I wanted with ear cartilage. He said it could droop a bit again later, so he would raise it as much as possible while taking that into account, but I should know it could droop. He said that normally, for a hump nose, after shaving it down, a thin silicone sheet is placed over it to make the line clean, but since I disliked implants so much, he wouldn’t put that in either. It might look slightly less smooth. He told me to be aware of these things, but said not to worry because he would make it as pretty as possible. His explanations were so detailed and he explained everything first, so I didn’t really have anything to ask.
Even after surgery, at every visit, the director personally checked my progress, and I especially liked that so much. There are so many doctors whose faces are hard to see after surgery. I really disliked that kind of system at plastic surgery clinics.
Anyway, after surgery, I’ve been living very, very satisfied, I never do nose contouring at all, and even when I take photos casually, I’m so satisfied haha Of course, since I went through the trouble of having surgery, it would feel even more rewarding if I made it more naturally glamorous and prettier… But I didn’t want to live trembling with anxiety as if I were carefully carrying around a time bomb that could go off at any moment Because I was so scared of side effects, I gave up on a naturally glamorous look and went natural, but thanks to that, I’m living carefree and comfortably with no worries at all, so I feel really at ease and love it haha
And honestly, even using no implant and only ear cartilage, I think this level of crooked nose correction is truly an incredible correction haha After seeing how well my nose turned out, my husband’s eyes sparkled and he got greedy, but the director firmly said there are noses that can be done without implants and noses that cannot.. He said my husband’s nose absolutely could not be done without implants, so rather than touching it awkwardly, he should just live with it.. hahahahaha Since that day, my husband has completely given up on his nose and lives that way hahahaha He says if Director Choo says it can’t be done, then it can’t be done, so he trusts that completely and has no lingering regret lol
I’m the kind of person who fills up the character limit even for delivery app reviews of my true favorite restaurants, so this review got really long;;; If the review is this detailed, I don’t think anyone would humanly suspect me of being a broker, but still, I didn’t want to be suspected for no reason, so I intentionally kept the hospital information private and only left a slight hint with the director’s name. It’s an uncommon name, so it should be easy to find. I won’t tell each person the hospital information in the comments, so please search using the director’s information and find it! You have to put in at least that much effort to be serious about online research! haha
