1-week subfascial review

Review after getting breast surgery

I was so thin that my ribs were visible, and I had almost no natural breast tissue, so when I went to previous clinics, I had naturally only been thinking about dual-plane surgery. But Director Cho Yong-hyun at KAI checked with ultrasound and recommended subfascial placement, saying that although I was thin and had little natural tissue, my subcutaneous fat was on the thicker side, so there would likely be many advantages to doing it subfascially.

I hadn’t even considered it, but when I looked up subfascial placement, it said it does not disturb the pectoralis major muscle and that the feel and movement are more natural, so I was tempted,, haha! I got Motiva 340 on both sides, transaxillary incision + subfascial placement.

I asked the director and consultant tons of questions because I was worried about rippling or it looking like rice bowls, and after hearing them confidently say that would not happen, I trusted them and went ahead with it hahaha

1-week review

It really, really hurt much less than I expected!!! On the evening of the first day, it felt numb and burning, but it did not feel painful. From day two, I had zero feeling of pain,, I thought, wow, I’m pain-free.

Then I went for my follow-up, and Director Cho Yong-hyun asked, “It didn’t hurt much, right?” and I thought, this is confidence lol̆̎ For reference, I had surgery Friday afternoon and went back to work Tuesday

But right now my skin feels stretched and tight, and it feels like two rocks are sitting on my chest,,,, Until the one-week mark I went around without a bra, and at my one-week follow-up they said I could start wearing a regular underwire bra, so I’m wearing an underwire bra now, but I want to throw it off,,, even this feels suffocating, so I respect everyone who wore a compression bra..

When I said at the follow-up that they were still round and sensation was dull, they said it was because there was swelling, and as the skin stretches, the upper border will soften too. They also said that if I can feel it when pinched, the nerves are alive, so sensation will come back.

Anyway, that’s the end of my 1-week review. Hope it helps!! hahahaha
