I booked consultations for functional nose and double-eyelid surgery because there was a Modudoc event, and I visited yesterday. There wasn’t a single person waiting, and only foreigners who looked like they were from Southeast Asia kept asking staff questions on the sofa in the waiting room.
But then they suddenly said the CT machine had broken down yesterday... (For reference, the functional nose consultation was said to cost 20,000 won, but because the CT was broken, I couldn’t get it.) So I couldn’t get the functional nose consultation.
I couldn’t get the nose consultation, but I did get an eye consultation. 11 years ago, because my eye-opening strength was weak, I had ptosis correction done at another clinic, and because the upper eyelid on one side felt tingly and prickly, I undid the ptosis correction a year later. Then at another clinic, I had only double-eyelid revision surgery done with partial incision, but my eyes were uneven, and as I got older one eyelid started to droop, making the asymmetry even worse. I had been stressed every time I looked in the mirror.
They said that because I’ve had ptosis correction, undoing ptosis correction, and partial-incision surgery, that makes this my third revision surgery. While I was talking with the manager, the chief surgeon came in, and I told them I had come because of my eyes and nose. They said the nose might not need to be done, so the nose discussion ended there.
The doctor adjusted the line on the drooping eye in one go and asked how that looked. I’m not an expert, so I wasn’t sure and just stared at the mirror blankly. They said it’s hard to satisfy each person’s desire.
In the end, they explained that either I could do only the drooping side with natural adhesion surgery, or I could do both sides with ptosis correction on both sides plus natural adhesion, and then they left. The cost was 2,436,000 won with a discount in exchange for writing a review. (Natural adhesion + ptosis correction: 1.98 million / revision surgery: 1.5 million, with a discount applied from those prices.)
I’m wondering if the doctor yesterday already had confidence about how to improve my eyes now, which is why they just briefly set the line and said something like, "This would work."
