My friend and I had it done on the same day. I have astigmatism, and my friend doesn’t. After surgery, both of us maintained 1.0 vision until years 2-3, but mine started gradually dropping from year 4, and because of the astigmatism, I can basically only make out shapes??? When measured by machine, it comes out around 0.5? and they say what I actually feel is even lower The friend who did it with me is fine and maintaining their vision. I don’t recommend LASEK for people with astigmatism. The reason I chose the clinic was to leave a lot of corneal thickness after surgery + just because at the time, many people around me had it done at that clinic. They said they left enough cornea for me to be able to have revision surgery, but thinking about cataracts, glaucoma, and things like that later, I have no intention of getting LASEK revision surgery. I wear glasses at home and live with poor vision outside. + The friend whose vision is being maintained had a thinner cornea, so even though less was left, they are maintaining 1.0. What we both have in common is that our eyes are extremely dry, and after drinking alcohol, they are even drier the next day..??
